The hydrozoans have the ability to return to childhood when they're grown up, and live forever. You can see the Turritopsis dohrnii in the video.

Is it possible that these jellyfish are still alive? Transdifferentiation is a unique cellular process that causes it.

The process allows the young jellyfish to return to its previous state of a polyp, even when it is already mature and has already reproduced.

It develops and reproduces again from the state it is in. The ability to repeat the cycle is what makes them biologically immortal.

At any time in the life cycle, regression to the polyp stage can be found. Sometimes it happens when they are sick or feel threatened.
