How do you recognize fake friends versus real friends?

Fake friends appear only when they need something. Real friends stand by you even when you are down. Also, real friends feel happy for your success, not jealous. Observe actions, not just words.

In my experience, fake friends disappear when problems come. Real ones may not talk daily, but when you call for help, they show up without excuses. That’s the difference.
