How much money do beginners realistically make in affiliate marketing?

Beginners usually make very little at first, maybe $10–$100 in the first few months. Some may make nothing. Affiliate marketing takes time. But after consistent effort, you can scale to $500, $1000, or more monthly.

My first affiliate commission was $3 after 2 months. It was small, but it proved the system works. By the end of my first year, I was making $300/month. Don’t expect fast riches. Be patient.
