How to ask what is your name in french?

I am also learning French. This is a good question.

For someone you don't know, or older people, you say "Comment vous appelez-vous?". This is the polite way.

For a friend or someone your age, you use "Comment t'appelles-tu?". This is more friendly. Many people also just say "Comment tu t'appelles?". I hear this one a lot in videos.

To give your name, you say "Je m'appelle..." and then your name. For example, "Je m'appelle Mike".

So it depends who you talk to. Hope this helps you
