If you’re talking about the Mazda CX-30 smart key it’s actually pretty easy. Flip the key fob over and press the small release button to pull out the emergency metal key. Use that metal key to gently pry open the back cover. Inside you’ll usually find a CR2025 coin battery.

Replace it with a new battery (positive side facing up) snap the cover back on and you’re done. No reprogramming needed.

Just a small tip from experience: when replacing the battery avoid touching the flat surfaces with your fingers. Oils from your skin can shorten battery life. I usually hold it by the edges or use a tissue. Also make sure the rubber gasket sits properly before closing the cover so moisture doesn’t get in.
