How to freeze particular row in excel?

Click on the row just below the one you want to freeze. Then go to the View tab → Freeze Panes → “Freeze Panes.” For example, if you want row 1 frozen, click row 2 first, then freeze. Now row 1 stays visible while scrolling.

If you only need the very top row, Excel has a direct option: View → Freeze Panes → “Freeze Top Row.” One click and done.
