How to get over psd?

Answer # 1 #

Also known as PSD, is the sadness felt after reading or watching a really interesting series or story, especially one that you followed intently and in the case of others, even went as far as being attached to characters.

The bitter feeling when you know this intriguing journey has come to an end, but you don’t want it to end.

It is the longing for the scenes on the last episode to flow for you like they did the first time you watched it.

When you didn’t know what the next scene held and the world in which the characters found themselves was entire without limit or prediction.

Because any time you watch the story, you know that they aren’t free to roam anywhere like they were before.

They are stuck in a cart on a track and all you can hope for is to notice something about the scene you didn’t before and just to go back and try to re-feel those feelings you had felt the first time around.

But it will never be quite the same.

This can be true for any series; be it book-based, TV-based, anime, comic, or even movie.

The effects can also be felt after completing a stand-alone piece that is not necessarily part of a series, although this isn’t as common as PSD derives from the attachment one has to the story’s characters.

Effects may include, but are not limited to:

Projecting the felt emotions from the series to real-life situations

However, it is projected, that the effects of Post-Series Depression can affect how you generally interact with the people around you, from being gloomy and sulky to being inexplicably affectionate towards unsuspecting people around you.

In any case, there is a dire need to recover from this post-series depression because your actions during this episode of this psychological breakdown may be inspired by rather fictitious emotions based on a scripted end to a series you got so intimately attached to.

So before you injure yourself or the people around you, here are some of the ways that can help you recover from this somewhat self-inflicted sorrow; I Recommend you to check out how deal with binge watching depression by clicking here

Binge a Comedy Series. (I did this after Nairobi died in Money Heist and I was inconsolable):

The fact that I become so attached to her character and at some point, it became my sole reason for watching the series, my heart was torn to tiny pieces when that bullet hit her and I saw her lying helplessly in her blood.

I became so inconsolable that I had to halt my binge for days. I could not even watch anything else at the time, not until this one time I walked in on my wife while she was re-watching some episodes of The Big Bang Theory.

I joined her just for the sake of it but little did I know that Sheldon Cooper would literally be my saving grace. I mean who watches Cooper and still keep a gloomy face.

At first it was just a smile, then a few chuckles and before I knew it I was laughing on top of my voice. And at that point I knew I found my remedy,

I knew Post-Series Depression was just a few big bangs of laughter away from moonwalking its sorrowful self out of my system. So laughter works, it really really works.

Step 1: Go home, get on TikTok and search it. Search it like there’s no tomorrow. Laugh over it, cry over it. Stay up way too late. You don’t even care; your body is numb with pain.

Step 2: I bet this TV show/movie has a soundtrack or a score. Download it. Listen to it on repeat. Listen to it until it doesn’t hurt anymore.

Step 3: Go do some physical activity. But make sure you are also still listening to the music. Exercise increases your endorphins which will start to make this sad music seem happy(er).

Step 4: Watch the actors in other things. Realize that they have other interesting projects. If their life can go on, so can yours!

Step 5: Are you still listening to the music?

Step 6: If you like making videos or gifs, painting or drawing, etc I recommend you starting with Tiktok or Youtube.

Step 7: You’re in your car driving to work and that song comes on. All of a sudden you realize you’re not sad anymore. The complete immersion into the topic allowed for a healthy, cathartic release.

Don’t wait until the end of a series to search for your next TV show to binge. Make it a habit of finding series you want to watch in advance and adding them to a queue.

Post-Series Depression can hit during a period of idlesness, when you don’t have anything else to watch.

This might help you to get excited about the next series on your list rather than feeling that you’ve got nothing left to watch.

The likes of Netflix allow you to add series to a list, however you can’t decide which order to watch them. As a result, you may prefer to simply keep a list on your phone in your notes.

This could include series from all different platforms.

Not sure what to watch next? You can find a list of series to suit every interest here. Try to make each new series different to the last rather than trying to look for a similar series to the one you’re already watching (if a series is too similar, it may just end up paling in comparison).

Sorrow and loneliness have this impeccable bond that usually creates a destructive force if allowed to merge.

Now you may not necessarily be lonely as per say, but the fact that you are alone at such an emotional time renders you bare on sorrow’s platter and might be fertile breeding grounds for Post-Series Depression.

You will have nobody but yourself to sob with, to feel miserable with and you will be vulnerable to the after effects of a terrible ending to a dope series.

It is always good to keep company as it is known to absorb some of the shock that would make after effect to an emotional end a really good series.

So do you know someone else who has also been watching the series and is up to speed? You could plan to watch the finale together.

You’ll have both shared the journey to its completion, giving you someone to share the pain with when it ends.

In fact, the sense of emptiness may not feel so great afterwards because you can immediately start talking about what you’ve just watched.

If the series had an ambiguous ending or seemingly had a few loose ends, you may be able to attempt to answer some of the questions left unanswered together.

This could help you to develop a greater sense of resolution. If you’ve got a few friends who are fellow nerds of the show, you could even plan a post-series party

(this is something that many people did with shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones).

Don’t have any friends or family members to discuss the series with? You may be able to overcome your Post-Series Depression by joining the conversation online.

Some people find that the best way to fill the emptiness is to immerse themselves into the fandom.

You could check out some of the wild fan theories and memes on Reddit, read reactions and debates surrounding the series on Twitter, look at professional reviews by publications and check YouTube for some of your favorite clips from the series to see what people have commented. You can then add your own insights if you have any.

This doesn’t only cushion how you feel, but can also broaden your perception of the series itself. It is common to have a certain view of certain scenes or characters in the series but joining the conversation can actually do more than just put the post-series depression of the leash, but also open you up to divergent perspectives.

This could be a strange but effective way of keeping the series alive after it is over. After a few hours (or a few days) of dissecting the movie, you may eventually get bored of it. At the same time, you may feel more content that you’ve got everything you can out of that series.

You may have watched all the episodes, but there may still be extra content left to consume. Many popular series come with ‘behind the scenes’ episodes which delve into the film-making as well as discussions with actors.

Deconstructing the fantasy world of the series could actually help you to escape it. By realizing that everything you just watched is props and actors, you may be able to return more easily to reality.

You can also look up bloopers. These deleted clips that shows some insight of what happened during the making of the series will show you that there was actually cameras and directors that were present to make sure the actor does the right thing to get you to feel exactly how you felt.

Even if you can’t find behind the scenes video clips, you may be able to find written content online delving into how the show was made.

Even dissecting the series’ Wikipedia page and looking into the actors on IMDB could help you to move on.If you can help it, don’t watch the finale at the beginning of a working week

If it’s a series that you’ve been avidly watching for months or years, consider watching the series finale at the end of the working week. For instance, if you work Monday to Friday, plan to watch it on Friday evening – not on Monday evening.

This could allow you to plan some fun activities for the weekend so that you have something more to look forward to after.

By doing this, returning to reality after the series has ended might not feel so bad. What you don’t want to do is exit the fantastical world of your favorite series only to settle back into the depressing routine of everyday life.

Some people use the same strategy when planning a vacation – they may plan to have a day off after they get back so that they’re not immediately hurling themselves back into the daily grind. Give yourself time to mourn the series while easing yourself back to reality so that it’s not such a sharp contrast.

If everyday life feels empty and TV series are the only thing that brighten it up, then there’s probably something more serious than post-series depression going on.

This is just a silly list of ways to stop yourself feeling slightly sad after a series ends. If you feel genuinely depressed, make sure to get help (binging another series is not the solution).

Sometimes you can get so consumed into the series that you start to feel like the story is real and the characters are real too. At this point it’s easy to be affected by the events of the series and you start to catch real emotions as a result.

For such series, when the characters that you are really fond of die or when it comes to an end, you become depressed, you feel like something dear to you has been taken away from you.

One thing that can scoop you out of this misery is following the following the actors that play out the characters of the series on their socials.

This will give you an insight into their lives, even after the series is over.

Then you will realize that inasmuch as the series is over, their lives have continued, those who may have died during the series are actually live in the real world ad that it was all just acting.

So Post-Series Depression (PSD) is actually a thing. Some people experience it after watching a great movie, some after reaching the end of a novel or even completing a video game.

Unlike traditional image file formats, the PSD file format stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop, including masks, text, and clipping paths. Because of their complexity, PSD files can be very large, making their recovery a real challenge for anyone who isn’t familiar with modern data recovery tools.

Yes, PSD files can be recovered, but you need to have the right tool for the job and take certain steps to ensure a successful recovery.

Good advice! To start with, you need to act before it’s too late. Any data recovery job is extremely time sensitive because the data recovery must be finished before the lost or deleted files get overwritten with new data. That may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few months, depending on many factors, including how large the storage device is, how frequently it is accessed, and so on.

This is very important! If you accidentally delete a PSD file from your hard drive, we strongly recommend you stop using that hard drive as soon as possible to ensure successful PSD recovery. If you use the same hard drive for your operating system, shut down your computer, disconnect the hard drive, and get ready to plug it into another computer to recover lost Photoshop files from it.

There are many data recovery tools that you can use to restore Photoshop files, but the differences between them can be severe. Because many data recovery tools are created by experts for experts, their usability is often abysmal, and it’s easy for the average user to make a small mistake and mess up the entire data recovery process.

Fortunately, there are also data recovery tools created with the average user in mind, and Disk Drill is one shining example. Compatible with macOS and Windows, Disk Drill is a fantastic PSD recovery tool that can recover PSD files as well as hundreds of other file formats from all storage devices:

Best of all, Disk Drill is infinitely cheaper than professional data recovery services because you can download it and use it to recover up to 500MB of data for free, which should be more than enough for many PSD files. To recover even more data, you can purchase Disk Drill PRO, and there’s also an enterprise version that provides full-featured commercial data recovery with top-level support for entire companies.

Advice #1 Unless you’re trying to recover hundreds of PSD files at the same time, the recovery process should take just a short while. To prevent losing your PSD files again in the future, we highly recommend you take advantage of Disk Drill’s data protection feature – Recovery Vault.

Advice #2 In addition to helping you ensure that you won’t ever again lose access to your PSD files, Disk Drill can also inform you in real-time about the health of your hard drive, which is critical for preventing catastrophic hard drive failures and their potentially disastrous consequences.

Here’s a list of techniques to recover unsaved PSD Files:

Photoshop is extremely complex software, and its developers understand the presence of critical bugs is unavoidable, which is why Photoshop comes with a recovery feature.

When you open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > File Handling, you should see the option to “Automatically Save Recovery Information Every .”

When you activate this option, Photoshop will automatically save your work every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. Photoshop also saves recovery files to the following location:

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop/AutoRecover

Windows: "C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop %version of the program%\AutoRecover"

To recover an unsaved Photoshop file, simply navigate to the location above and look for files in the PSB format, which is another image file format used by Adobe Photoshop. You should be able to open a PSB file just by double-clicking on them.

If you don’t find any files in the AutoRecover folder, it’s also worth checking the Temp folder for any files with the PSB or PSD file extension.

This is perhaps the quickest, most straightforward method of file recovery. PSD files are often quite heavy and involve multiple layers. To safeguard these projects, Adobe Photoshop keeps a list of recent files. If you’ve forgotten to save your file or an unexpected system error occurred while you were working on the file, you’d most probably be able to retrieve it.

If you’ve experienced one of the situations mentioned above, follow these simple steps to recover your PSD file:

Go to File > Open Recent > From the drop-down menu, select the file you wish to recover.

If you’ve accidentally or purposefully deleted your PSD files and need to get them back, there’s a quick, easy-to-follow solution that can help you. This is quite a common issue, but both Windows and Mac operating systems have a fix for it.

The Windows Recycle Bin and Mac Trash temporarily save your deleted files. This leaves space for human error or offers hassle-free file recovery if you change your mind.

Let’s go through both the file retrieval processes:

Windows Recycle Bin:

Mac Trash:

If your device has crashed, your PSD file has been corrupted, or you’ve accidentally overwritten a file, you can turn to the backup options on your device. Both Windows and Mac operating systems have inbuilt features to support you in cases of data loss.

Features such as File History on Windows and Mac’s Time Machine can help you recover your damaged Photoshop file in just a few clicks.

Let’s have a look at the two processes:

Windows File History:

You can find all details on setting up Windows File History here.

Mac Time Machine:

Sometimes, if there’s a sudden disruption and the software crashes very unexpectedly, the AutoSave could fail to work. Or it turns out that you’ve disabled the feature on PhotoShop. In such cases, you might find your lost PSD file in the Temp folder.

Both Windows and Mac have a dedicated folder for ‘temporary files.’ If an application shuts down unexpectedly, you can navigate through these folders to find and save your file.

On Windows:

You can find the Temp folder on Windows by navigating to the following location: C:/Users/UserName/AppData/Local/Temp/

However, since it’s a hidden folder, there are other ways of finding your file. If you type in ‘Local’ into the file manager search bar, you will find the ‘Local’ folder and the ‘Temp’ directory by extension. You can search for your PSD file here.

If you’re often working with large Photoshop files, there’s a chance that you’ve encountered a corrupt Photoshop file and the following warning message:

“This file contains one or more layers which appear to be corrupt. Continue reading layers?”

More often than not, the problem is limited to a single layer, but Photoshop doesn’t know which, and it gives you two equally bad options:

Fortunately, there’s also a third option, even though most Photoshop users don’t know about it. PSD Repair Kit is a PSD repair utility that analyzes the contents of a damaged file layer by layer and extracts recoverable elements to a new healthy PSD file on the user’s hard drive. It was developed specifically to meet the needs of graphic designers and digital artists who work with Photoshop on a daily basis and can’t afford to lose hours, days, and possibly even months of work.

File corruption can occur due to a variety of reasons. Your PSD file can suffer damage due to malware and virus, software or human error, bugs in the program, improperly powering off the system, etc. While you can use the methods mentioned in this article to recover these damaged files, there are a few tips that you must follow to help prevent PSD files from being corrupted. Some of them are:

Keep these three tips in mind to ensure the safety of your PSD files.

Since Adobe Photoshop is heavy software, it can be susceptible to unexpected system crashes and other disturbances. However, if you lose your PSD project file, several reliable methods can help restore your files. Most of the data recovery solutions mentioned in this article are easy to carry out and won’t risk permanent loss of your files. These DIY methods are pretty economical, dependable, and ensure a smooth recovery process for your PSD files.

**I am not a Doctor, do not take any of my advice seriously. I barely take my advice seriously.**

So you just finished that show/movie series/book series, and you don’t know how to go on. All you want to do is curl up in a ball and cry because that fantasy world you lived in for a while has now disappeared. You feel like life is pointless and nothing could ever make you feel better. All because of some damn fictional characters!

I’m here to help. I spent all of my college years binging TV shows and trying to get over them. I thought I’d learned how to recover. Then I saw Mockingjay Part 2 and I thought my world was ending. Here are the steps I took to recover from my haze. If you follow these steps, I can guarantee that you will recover with 1-3 weeks (I cannot guarantee this).

These are recovery plans that I have tested and approved.

Recovery Plan #1: Binge a Comedy Series

Step #1 (I did this after a certain character died at the end of Game of Thrones this season and I was inconsolable): Push this topic out of your head by binge-watching Parks and Recreation. It works. It really really works. Already seen Parks and Rec? So have I; watch it again. Don’t like Parks and Rec? What’s wrong with you? (Estimated PSTS recovery time: 1 week)

Recovery Plan #2: Complete Immersion

Step 1: Go home, get on Tumblr and search it.

*SCIENCE*

Step 4: Watch the actors in other things. Realize that they have other interesting projects. If their life can go on, so can yours!

Step 5: Are you still listening to the music?

Step 6: If you like to make videos or gifs, or paint or draw, etc. Do it. Put it on Tumblr.

Step 7: You’re in your car driving to work and *that* song comes on. All of a sudden you realize you’re not sad anymore. The complete immersion into the topic allowed for a healthy, cathartic release.

Recovery Plan #3: All Things Disney

Step 1: Disney will make things better. Disney has to make things better – keep telling yourself this. Find your favorite Disney movie. If you don’t have it on DVD then download it or stream it online. If you are feeling extra rich, purchase a Disney + membership. I have seen pretty much every Disney film but Aladdin remains my favorite, followed closely by Up. Yes, Up was made by Pixar but distributed by Disney so it counts.

Step 2: Listen to the soundtrack online, I would recommend Spotify but YouTube works too. Plus on YouTube, you will likely be treated to state of the art images or cut scenes from the film. Joking, they will be grainy images of Jasmine and Aladdin on the flying carpet or at best a scene from the film shot with a potato. But it doesn’t matter, you are here for the music!

Step 3: Immerse yourself in all things Aladdin. Buy a Persian carpet for your bedroom. Purchase a pet pirate. Play Genie Jackpots Megaways, a game based on the Genie from Aladdin. Buy a magic lamp, okay it’s hard to get a magic one but buy a lamp anyway, you never know!

Step 4: Never forget that no matter how bad your post series depression becomes, there will always be a Disney film to make you feel better again.

(Estimated PSDS Recovery Time: 2 weeks; 3 weeks for serious cases)

YOU DID IT! CONGRATS. YOU MADE IT THROUGH THE DREADED PSDS (or showhole)

Whatcha gonna watch next? 😉

**This is meant to be facetious. Please don’t misconstrue this fun post as me mocking real depression. It is a serious disease and I respect and empathize with anyone suffering from it. **

System errors, unexpected shutdowns, power fluctuations, corrupted storage devices, not saving your work while working and the list for why PSD files get lost goes on and on. There are innumerable reasons why PSD files can get lost and it can get quite difficult to prevent most of them. Fortunately, there are some solid solutions as well for recovery photoshop files.

The most obvious answer to the question of how to recover deleted photoshop file is the recycle bin because that's where all the deleted files go. Open your recycle bin and see whether it has your deleted PSD files and recover them to a secure location on your device.

One easy way to recover your unsaved Photoshop file is from the recent files option present inside Photoshop.

To recover files from this method, launch photoshop and go to Files. From there select the Open Recent option, here you will see all the recent files you've worked on. Select the file you want to restore and open it and that's it, your unsaved file is now back. Save this file on your device for using it in the future.

Autosave is enabled by default in the new versions of Photoshop. So if you are wondering does photoshop autosave the simple answer is yes! The Autosave feature is set to save your work from time to time while you are working.

But in some versions of Photoshop, Autosave might not be turned on. If that's the case you can enable it by following these steps.

Step 1: Launch Photoshop and click on the Edit menu present on the toolbar.

Step 2: In the Edit menu choose Preferences and go to General.

Step 3: Here, Open the File handling tab and choose Autosave recovery time. You can choose the Autosave time to be 5 mins, 10 mins, etc depending on your preference.

You can access the saved files from the photoshop autosave location present on your C drive.

The path to autosaved files on windows is- C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop\AutoRecover

Note: For this method to work Autosave must be enabled previously.

In addition to Autosave, Photoshop also has a feature wherein it saves temporary files of the project you are working on. You can make use of that to recover your deleted PSD file. Here's how:

Step 1: Launch Windows File Explorer and navigate to User\YourUserName\Local Settings\Temp.

Step 2: Search this folder for files with names beginning from Photoshop followed by alphanumeric characters.

Step 3: Search for the temp file by opening each file or by sorting through the dates and times of creation.

Step 4: After finding the file, save it for future use.

This method is the go-to if you remember the name of the PSD file that you want to restore.

To restore the PSD file from the previous version, right-click on the PSD file in question and click on 'Recover Previous Version'. Now from the list that pops up select the version of the file you want to restore. After restoring, launch Photoshop and find the file that you've recovered. Save this file.

Creating backups is a must when you are a professional that has a lot of useful data on the device. If you have created backups at regular intervals on your device then you can use that to restore PSD files. Access your backup folder and search for the relevant file and download it on your device.

File history is a useful tool that can restore your PSD files with ease and without a lot of hassle. You can find most of the photoshop recovery files in file history and get them back, here's how.

Step 1: Launch Control Panel and go to File history and click on restore personal files.

Step 2: Click the green restore button at the bottom to get your PSD files back. Launch the file in the photoshop app and save it in a secure location.

The best way to procure the photoshop recovery files is through software and what better way to do it than with the Tenorshare 4DDiG data recovery software. Comprising a host of powerful features and functions that can bring your data back in no time, Tenorshare's data recovery software is the best amongst its competition. It's fast, it's new and it's up to the task of accurate and precise data recovery. It can work on any drive or location ranging from local drives, Recycle Bin, portable devices like USB, SD cards to external hard drives, and crashed computers. Let's look at how to recover unsaved photoshop file using this software.

One of the ways around photoshop not saving is recovering the unsaved file from temp files. These temp files are stored in the system drive. Exact location- C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp.

You can fix the photoshop tools disappeared problem by using the pressing Shift + tab buttons together.

To clear Photoshop recent files follow these steps:

Step 1: Click on Files and go to Open Recent.

Step 2: Here choose the Clear Recent File List.

You can delete a photoshop project by going to the project list. In the project list choose the project you want to delete and delete by pressing the delete icon.

You can undo by selecting undo from the edit menu or you can use the keyboard combination Ctrl + Z.
