How to get pan card number with aadhar card?
The simplest way is to use the Income Tax Department e-filing portal. There’s an option called Know Your PAN/AO. You need to enter your Aadhaar number, name, and date of birth. If your Aadhaar is already linked to PAN, the system will show your PAN number instantly.
Another way is through the SMS service. If Aadhaar is linked to PAN, send an SMS in the format: UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10-digit PAN> to 567678 or 56161. But this works only if Aadhaar-PAN linking is already done.
You can go on the Income Tax e-filing website. Look for a service named 'Know Your PAN'. You must enter your Aadhaar card details. An OTP will come to your mobile phone. When you enter this OTP, the website will show your PAN number. It is a simple step.
I once lost my PAN card, and since Aadhaar was linked, I applied online for e-PAN. It was generated in minutes and sent to my email. So, if your Aadhaar is updated with your current mobile and email, you can recover your PAN very quickly.
If you don’t remember your PAN number, log in to the NSDL or UTIITSL portal. Using Aadhaar details, you can request to reprint your PAN or simply view the number. You may have to complete OTP verification on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
If your Aadhaar is not linked to PAN, you cannot directly get the PAN from Aadhaar. You’ll need to check older financial documents (bank KYC, tax filings) where PAN might have been used. Linking Aadhaar and PAN is now mandatory in India, so it’s better to do it online immediately.
