How to grow bel patra plant at home without seeds?
Growing Bel Patra (Bilva or Bengal Quince) without seeds is definitely possible through cuttings or air layering! I've successfully propagated mine:
Stem cuttings work best taken in rainy season - select semi-hardwood branches from healthy tree, 8-10 inches long with several nodes. Remove lower leaves, treat with rooting hormone, and plant in well-draining soil mix.
Maintain high humidity by covering with plastic bag or dome. Keep in bright, indirect light. Rooting can take 2-3 months. Air layering is more reliable - select a branch, wound it, apply rooting hormone, wrap with moist sphagnum moss and plastic.
Once rooted, acclimate gradually to normal conditions. Bel plants prefer well-draining soil, full sun to partial shade, and moderate watering. They're slow growers initially but worth the patience for their religious significance!
