I just went through this process last week! The key thing to remember is that SBCGlobal is now operated by Yahoo/AT&T, so you use their servers. Here's what worked for me:

  1. Delete any existing SBCGlobal account from your phone first if you've tried setting it up before
  2. Use the Yahoo Mail app instead of the default Android email app - it handles SBCGlobal accounts better
  3. When signing in, use your full SBCGlobal email address and password
  4. If two-factor authentication is enabled, you'll need to generate an app password from your AT&T account settings

The Yahoo Mail app automatically configures everything correctly. If you prefer using the Gmail app, you might need to use the manual IMAP settings the previous answer mentioned. The Yahoo app route is definitely easier though!

Setting up SBCGlobal email on Android is pretty straightforward since it's now part of AT&T/Yahoo mail. Here are the manual settings:

IMAP Settings: * Incoming Server: imap.mail.att.net * Port: 993 * Security: SSL/TLS * Outgoing Server: smtp.mail.att.net * Port: 465 or 587 * Security: SSL/TLS

Steps: 1. Open Gmail app or Email app on Android 2. Add account → Other → Manual setup 3. Enter your full SBCGlobal email and password 4. Select IMAP and enter the server settings above 5. Set sync frequency and you're done!

Sometimes the automatic setup works, but if it fails, these manual settings should do the trick. Make sure you're using your full email address (including @sbcglobal.net) as the username.
