After the sequel was confirmed back in May 2021, we had to wait until September 2022 for the first trailer, teasing the team-up adventure between Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) and her big brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill) in the new movie.

The first movie was a huge hit for Netflix, so much so that it even surprised Brown. "I really didn't think it would be as successful as it was," she admitted in October 2022. "I thought: 'There's so much potential here.' But I didn't realise how much potential."

Will Enola Holmes 2 prove just as big of a hit? We don't have long to wait to find out, but to keep you occupied, here's everything you need to know about the sequel. The game, again, is afoot.

Enola Holmes 2 will be released on Netflix worldwide on Friday, November 4 at the usual Netflix times of 12am PT, 3am ET and 7am UK time (due to time change).

If you want to see Enola on the big screen, the sequel was released in select UK cinemas from Friday, October 28.

The sequel started filming in October 2021 and in late November, Cavill revealed that he had completed his final day on set. By January 2022, Netflix confirmed that filming had finished on Enola Holmes 2.

The first trailer for Enola Holmes 2 was unveiled during Netflix's TUDUM event in September 2022.

It teased the new mystery in store for Enola which involves a missing girl and somehow connects to a case that has been "vexing" Sherlock, leading to a team-up between the Holmes siblings.

If you missed it above, you can watch it again below:

We were treated to "part 2" of the official trailer in October 2022, which revealed more of Enola and Sherlock's team-up, as well as the danger she faces.

In the trailer, we get glimpses of a dramatic carriage chase and Enola in trouble with the law, but luckily she's always got Sherlock and her mother Eudoria fighting her corner if she gets into real danger.

Check it out below:

Millie Bobby Brown is, of course, back as Enola Holmes and she has explained she views the series as the "most important moment in my career so far" because she developed them.

"There were so many things that I got to be a part of, and I was really grateful for that. My age and gender has never defined [my job], so everyone on set really respected me and heard me. It was such a nice environment to be able to experience," she added.

Henry Cavill has been confirmed to return as Sherlock Holmes, but there's no word yet about Sam Claflin coming back as Mycroft Holmes. It seems unlikely that he is back, unless they're just keeping it a secret.

During Netflix's TUDUM event in September 2021, Louis Partridge confirmed his return as Tewkesbury. He won't be alone though as Helena Bonham Carter, Adeel Akhtar and Susan Wokoma are back as Eudoria Holmes, Lestrade and Edith, respectively.

There's a host of newcomers joining the fun in the sequel too: Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Thewlis, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss.

According to EW, Thewlis is playing a shady cop, while Duncan-Brewster is playing a mysterious character with ties to the case that Enola is investigating. That's about all we know about the new characters so far.

Along with the first images, the official synopsis for Enola Holmes 2 was released by Netflix:

"Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel," it reads.

That sounds similar to the set-up of the second Enola Holmes Mysteries novel that the movie series is based on. The Case of the Left-Handed Lady saw Enola attempt to track down the missing Lady Cecily Alistair, while avoiding her brother Sherlock.

It's unlikely that the sequel will be an exact adaptation given that the first movie wasn't a direct copy of the book. In the book series, Enola and Sherlock are more adversarial whereas the movie set up Sherlock as a kinder older brother.

"We set the film in the hustle and bustle of London, which is something that we didn't really get to see as much in the first one," Brown teased to EW. "We got to really see what this young girl is doing in this crazy city that surrounds her night and day."

Bradbeer added: "I wanted this story to be a grittier one. I wanted to introduce her to working-class girls in a working-class world. I wanted it to be a completely new world for Enola, so she was more out of her depth."

It's possible that the sequel will also pick up where the first movie left off. We've got a full round-up of the first movie here, but we're more interested in the final moments.

After saving the lord, Enola resumes the search for her mother and she finally gets a coded reply in a newspaper, allegedly from her mother that tells Enola to meet her at the Royal Academy that night.

Enola knows it's just a scam from Sherlock and Mycroft, so she hides as a newspaper seller to confirm her suspicions. They head off disappointed, but Sherlock spots Enola's childhood toy (a pine cone she called Dash), so he knows she was there.

Back in her room, Enola has a surprise reunion with her mother who apologises for leaving her, but Eudoria knew it wasn't "safe" to tell Enola where she was going as she's involved in the Suffragist movement.

She tells Enola that she'll always be there if she needs her, all Enola needs to do is leave her a coded message in the newspaper as before.

In a final monologue to camera, Enola talks about how she needs to find her "own path" like the rest of her family: "I now see that being alone doesn't mean I have to be lonely. Mother never wanted that. She wanted me to find my freedom, my future, my purpose.

"I am a detective, I am a decipherer and I am a finder of lost souls. My life is my own. And the future is up to us."

Enola Holmes 2 will be released on Netflix on November 4.

"Enola Holmes 2" arrived on Netflix on November 4. The sequel to the hit 2020 mystery film can be streamed with any Netflix plan.

Enola Holmes, the teenage sister of the brilliant and famous detective Sherlock Holmes, shares her family's wit and penchant for mystery. But when she tries starting her own detective agency, she is met with resistance due to her gender and age. Just as it looks like she might shut down the business, Enola comes across a missing person case that puts her sleuthing skills to the test.

Millie Bobby Brown returns to play the title character. Other cast members back for the sequel include Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, and Adeel Akhtar. Harry Bradbeer also returns as the director.

You can now watch "Enola Holmes 2" on Netflix. Since the movie is a Netflix original, you won't be able to stream it anywhere else. Subscribers can also watch the first "Enola Holmes" movie from 2020.

Access to the movie is available with any of the service's plans, starting with Netflix Basic with ads for $7/month or Netflix Basic without ads for $10/month. Both entry-level plans offer 720p streaming quality. If you opt for Netflix Standard ($15.49/month), you can watch "Enola Holmes 2" in 1080p high definition, while Netflix Premium ($20/month) offers up to 4K streaming.

Once you subscribe, you can watch "Enola Holmes 2" on just about any smart TV, smartphone, tablet, console, and web browser.

Though it's still a bit too early for all of the film's reviews to pour in, initial responses to "Enola Holmes 2" are looking positive. As of November 4, the fourth-wall-breaking family adventure is rated "93% Fresh" on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Initial impressions from critics call the sequel a worthwhile follow-up to the first movie, with some even saying "Enola Holmes 2" may be the better of the two titles.

Brown recently revealed that the fourth wall breaks in Enola Holmes 2 caused her to have nightmares about bringing the habit to the final season of Stranger Things.

At a Q&A during the film's premiere in New York, Brown said (via Today): "While filming, I had a dream that I was on the set of Stranger Things, and I couldn't stop looking at the camera.

"And now, I have this deep-rooted fear that now I will never stop looking at the camera. So now, I'm so obsessed with it."

Fans were previously treated to a first trailer for the sequel, as well as some first-look images showing the cast in action (below).

Released as part of Netflix's global TUDUM event, the footage teased what's in store for Enola as she sets up her own detective agency and lands a case involving a missing girl after she is initially rebuffed by an assortment of potential clients.

The footage also gives us a first look at her famous brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill), as it becomes apparent that a case he is working on is somehow connected with her own mystery.

As was the case for the first movie, the sequel is based on Nancy Springer's book series, The Enola Holmes Mysterieswith the story for this one stemming from the novel The Case of the Left-Handed Lady.

Alongside Brown and Cavill, other returning characters include Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as Enola's mother Eudoria, Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade and Susan Wokoma as Edith.

Here's everything we know so far about Enola Holmes 2, from which stars are returning for the sequel to what it'll be about.

Enola Holmes will land on Netflix on 4th November 2022 in the UK. We can't wait!

Netflix announced that the Enola Holmes sequel had officially finished filming back in January 2022, releasing a short behind-the-scenes clip of Louis Partridge wrapping his scenes.

The clip, shared on Twitter in January 2022, confirms that teenage detective Enola's love interest Tewkesbury (played by Partridge) will officially return for the film, following speculation about whether his storyline would continue.

Enola Holmes stars Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the titular role, and Henry Cavill (Sherlock Holmes) are officially returning for this follow-up film. It wouldn't be much of a sequel if the Enola Holmes herself didn't feature.

It's no surprise that Millie Bobby Brown is back for the sequel, having told EW last year that she "fell in love" with the character.

"I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I’ll just do one movie, like, obviously…’ and then as soon as I went on set and I played [Enola], I fell in love with her, and she became part of my heart.

"Ultimately, this has been my favorite thing that I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “So to do it all over again would be a dream."

Meanwhile Louis Partridge will also be reprising his role as Tewkesbury, who was established as a love interest for Enola in the first film.

Partridge previously hinted at his involvement in the sequel with a recent comment on Millie Bobby Brown's Instagram post announcing Enola Holmes 2. "The sequel is afoot #EnolaHolmes2," she captioned a behind-the-scenes pic from the first film, while Partridge commented underneath with a cryptic winking emoji.

It's not yet know how many scenes he'll feature in in the sequel. However, with the first film laying the foundations for a potential romance between Enola and Tewkesbury, we wouldn't be surprised if he made a cameo at least.

As for the supporting cast, we don't know for certain who else from the first movie will be reprising their role for Enola Holmes 2, but hopefully Sam Claflin and Helena Bonham Carter will be back to play Enola's strict older brother Mycroft and her free-spirited, suffragette mother Eudoria respectively.

It would make sense for Adeel Akhtar to return as Lestrade and Susie Wokoma as Edith, however, there may be no need for the return of Hattie Morahan (Lady Tewkesbury), David Bamber (Sir Whimbrel Tewkesbury), Frances de la Tour (The Dowager) or Fiona Shaw (Miss Harrison) to return, especially with Enola set to move onto another mystery.

The first film in the franchise introduces viewers to Enola Holmes – the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes – who lives with their mother Eudoria in late-1800s England. Homeschooled her whole life by her mother, who taught her to be an independent, thinking young woman, Enola wakes up on her 16th birthday to find her mother missing with just birthday gifts left behind.

While Sherlock and Mycroft arrive to send Enola away to finishing school, Enola finds a secret message in the flower cards left by her mother and runs away, boarding a train whilst dressed as a man. On the train, she meets Viscount Tewkesbury, who has also run away from home but is unaware that an assassin, Linthorn, is trying to kill him. Enola narrowly saves Tewkesbury from being murdered by jumping off the train with him, after which they both travel to London and part ways.

Following Eudoria's clues, Enola learns that her mother is part of a radical group of suffragettes after finding explosives in a safe house. Having escaped Linthorn once again, Enola decides to learn more about Viscount Tewkesbury by visiting his family's estate. She then heads to Covent Garden, where she finds him selling flowers and warns him that he's in danger. However, she's tracked down by Inspector Lestrade, who has been asked to find her by Mycroft, and is sent to finishing school.

Miserable at Miss Harrison's boarding school, Enola is soon rescued by Tewkesbury, who manages to sneak in, and the pair escape on Miss Harrison's motorcycle and head to Tewkesbury's family estate, having deduced that it was his uncle trying to kill him. Once they arrive, however, they're confronted by Tewkesbury's grandmother, who had organised the assassination of her grandson to stop him taking his father's place in the House of Lords and voting in favour of women's right to vote. She shoots him in the chest but he survives, revealing he was wearing a plate of armour underneath his clothes.

Enola says goodbye to Tewkesbury and heads back to London, deciphering a message in a newspaper meant for her but realising it was just a trap set by Sherlock and Mycroft. Sherlock suggests he should become Enola's guardian to Mycroft and spots a clue from Enola, but decides not to look for her. When Enola heads back to her lodgings, she finds Eudoria waiting for her. She explains that she had to leave to enhance the cause of the suffragettes and was proud of the person Enola had become, but that it was time for her to go once again.

Netflix hasn't revealed what Enola will be getting up to in Enola Holmes 2, but we can get a pretty good idea from Nancy Springer's series of books, on which the films are based.

When we last saw Enola, she'd said goodbye to Tewkesbury and finally reunited with her mother before Eudoria left again to continue fighting for women's rights. Now that Enola is under the guardianship of her other brother Sherlock and free to roam London as an amateur detective, the film's ending set things up for Enola to head on another adventure in the upcoming sequel.

If Enola Holmes 2 is to follow the events of Springer's second book in the franchise – The Case of the Left-Handed Lady – we're likely to see Enola discover a hidden collection of charcoal drawings which belong to Lady Cecily, a girl who has recently disappeared without a trace.

Whilst evading capture by her brother Sherlock, Enola will head on a journey to find and save this missing girl without compromising her hidden identity.

A trailer for the sequel was released by Netflix as part of its TUDUM event on Saturday 24th September 2022 – giving fans an exciting glimpse of Millie Bobbie Brown back in character as Enola.

The 2-minute-long clip shows her starting up her own detective agency, although not many potential clients treat her seriously until she's assigned a case concerning a missing girl, which we learn is somehow connected to a case her brother Sherlock is working on. Check out the trailer below.

Prior to releasing the trailer for Enola Holmes 2, Netflix had released a short behind-the-scenes clip of Louis Partridge wrapping his scenes for the film.
