Is it possible to join income tax department after 12th pass?

I joined as MTS in Income Tax office after 12th. Work includes file handling and office support. Salary is decent, and later, internal promotions are possible.

Direct officer posts in Income Tax require graduation through SSC CGL. However, support staff like multitasking staff (MTS) and clerks can be recruited with 12th pass qualification.

Most higher-level jobs are not open to 12th pass. Still, entry-level staff positions provide government benefits and a chance for career growth.
