Theatr Clwyd’s address is: Raikes Lane, Mold, CH7 1YA and it is set on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful market town of Mold. The complex is immediately adjacent to Shire Hall (the administrative offices of the Flintshire County Council) and forms part of the County Civic Centre at Mold (Yr Wyddgrug).
The roads surrounding the theatre have prominent brown and white signs making the theatre very easy to find.
If you are travelling by public transport there is a bus stop outside the theatre on the routes from Mold, Flint and Chester. The nearest train station are Flint (5 miles), Buckley (5 miles) and Chester (11 miles)
If you are driving from the North Wales coast, take the A55 towards Chester, then take the exit signed Flint and turn right towards Mold. Go through the villages of Northop and Sychdyn, and look for a well signposted right hand turn into the theatre.
If you are driving from Chester or North West England, take signs for North Wales and Conway. From the A55, filter left onto the A494 for Mold. As you approach the town, there are well signposted signs to the theatre on your right.
From other directions, go through Mold and take the A494 Queensferry road. The theatre is signposted on the left just after you leave the town.
There is a large undercover car park operated by Flintshire County Council at the front of the building with tunnel access direct to the theatre foyer. Please note that the tunnel entrance has steps. Please be aware that the outside part of the multi-storey car park is currently undergoing some works and therefore is unavailable for parking. Whilst these repair works are ongoing if you do find the covered part of the car park to be full please park in the adjacent tiered car park. Recently the council has introduced charges to use the car park however it is only 50p for a full day, 20p for 2 hours and is pay and display Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm.
Theatre Clwyd contains five auditoria: The Anthony Hopkins Theatre with 570 seats; The Emlyn Williams Theatre an adaptable studio space with up to 250 seats; Studio 2 which seats up to 120 people; The Clwyd Room – a multifunction area for up to 300 and a 120 seat Cinema.
The theatre’s bistro restaurant offers a delicious range of meals as well as pastas, soup, sandwiches, salads, cakes and hot & cold drinks. Opening times may change depending on show start times, and we’d recommend booking a table in advance on: 01352 701 533.
The Theatre Bar opens 1 hour before each performance, so if you arrive early you can enjoy a drink and visit the Gift shop or Galleries. Bar staff are also happy to take your interval order.
