Help to Buy: Equity Loan closed to new applications on 31 October 2022.
If you’ve been approved for Help to Buy, we’re giving you and your homebuilder the opportunity to have more time to legally complete.
Your homebuilder can apply to allow you to legally complete your purchase up to 31 May 2023.
If this extension is in place, your homebuilder had until 28 April 2023 to finish building your home.
This extra time is only available to approved homebuyers with an Authority to Proceed (ATP) or Authority to Exchange (ATE).
If an extension has not been agreed:
Please ask your homebuilder and conveyancer to make sure that your homebuilder has followed Homes England’s required process and you can complete on time.

When homebuilders register for the scheme, they agree to meet deadlines known as Longstop Dates.
