There is only one place in the world where you can find a amethyst geode, in the overworld dimensions of your world. The underground portion of any biome will have these geodes in it, as well as in some oceans at level 70 or below. If you're playing in an old World, you'll need to locate a new shard spawn area to get access to new content from update 1.17, as they only appear in the world in the initial shard spawn.

One of the easiest ways to find a geode is to travel along a beach and look for a smooth basalt that is out of the sand. The basalt material has a dark color and is easy to spot even from a distance.

You can look out from the ocean floor or underwater hills and ravines to find them.

They're a little harder to spot this way, but the smooth, round structure tends to give them away, especially once the initial darkness fades.

There's a good chance that you can enter through a crack in the exterior of a geode if you locate it.

If there are no cracks, or it's not exposed in the direction you're trying to go, you'll need to make your way. If you use a pickaxe, you will ensure that what you have falls as a block. There is a new block of dark color that should add some detail to the builds.

There is a new light-colored block inside the basalt that can only be found inside the geodes and in stripes in the stony peaks. This block is purely decorative, but you never know when it will be given a new purpose.

Since it doesn't have an infinite generation mechanic, calcite is a finite material in the game, which makes it a valuable commodity.

Within the calcite, you'll find your budding amethyst and amethyst blocks, with buds and clusters scattered across the various surfaces.

You will not have to worry about mineing all of the Amethyst Blocks, Amethyst Buds, and Amethyst Clusters. If you use a silk touch stick on the buds, they won't fall.

If you want a renewable source of amethyst crystals to be used for decoration or for making stained glass, you'll want to leave the budding amethyst blocks intact.

These blocks will give you the ability to grab them and turn them into blocks or other items, as they will give new amethyst crystals the ability to be bigger and bigger until they reach their full potential.

Even if you push the Silk Touch enchantment or use a piston, the budding amethyst can't be moved to survive, so hopefully you'll be able to find a geode near where you camped.

If you have access to a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment, you can use the first three stages of amethyst growth as decorations.

The final growth stage of amethyst can also be mined for the same purpose. Light levels 1, 2, 4, and 5 will produce light when placed in the world.

You can use any method to break the clumps, but a pickaxe is more efficient and will drop more shards than any other tool.

The Fortune Charm can be used to increase the number of Amethyst Shards to a maximum of 16. Three different crafting recipes can be used with these fragments.

When working with data in Excel, sorting the data is one of the common things you might have to do.

In most of the cases, you need to sort a single column.

But in some cases, there may be a need to sort two columns or more than two columns.

For example, in the below dataset, I want to sort the data by the Region column and then by the Sales Column. This will allow me to see which sales rep has done well in which regions.

While it’s straightforward to sort data by one column in Excel, when it comes to sorting by two columns, you need to take a couple of additional steps.

In this tutorial, I will show you two ways to do a multiple level data sorting in Excel (i.e., sort by two columns)

When you sort data using the sort dialog box, you get an option to add multiple levels to it.

Here are the steps to do  multi-level sorting using the dialog box:

The above steps would give you the result as shown below. This sorts the data first by Region and then by Sales column. Note that since it sorts the Region column first when the Sales column is sorted, the Region column remains unchanged.

In this example, I have sorted the data for two columns. You can have more than two-column sorting as well. All you need to do is add these sorting levels and specify the details.

Note: While this method is longer and takes a few more steps (as compared with the multi-sorting method covered next), I recommend using this as it is less confusing.

Not many people know this way of doing a multiple level data sorting in Excel.

This technique works the same way with a minor difference – you sort the second level first and then move to the first level sorting column.

The above steps would sort the data just like it did in the first method.

While this method works fine, I recommend using the sort dialog bo method.

Sort dialog box makes it less error-prone (as you can see which levels getting sorted in which order).

Also, there are more ways to sort data with the dialog box. For example, you can sort a column based on the cell/font color and you can also use your own custom sorting criteria.
