Bills that would decriminalize possession have been introduced in 19 states — including Missouri, Iowa and Kansas — though none have been enacted. And more than a dozen states — including Florida, Oklahoma and Texas — have introduced legislation to further study the health benefits of psilocybin.

“More folks are starting to recognize and understand, when it comes to psychedelic therapy, this is not some sort of radical field. It’s becoming more mainstream,” said Oklahoma state Rep. Daniel Pae, who co-authored a bill that would authorize scientific research into psilocybin.

The bill, which passed in the Oklahoma House and is headed to the state Senate for consideration, would allow adults living with a handful of conditions to participate in state-run clinical trials using psilocybin. Texas passed a similar bill last year.

The potential of psychedelics to be a part of treatments for depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, drug dependency and eating disorders is being evaluated in numerous clinical trials. In 2018, the Food and Drug Administration marked psilocybin as a “breakthrough therapy,” a designation that expedites the development of drugs that may be more effective than existing treatments.

Hawaii’s state Senate cited the FDA designation in March when it approved a bill that would assemble a task force to develop a long-term plan to make psilocybin available to adults over the age of 21 seeking mental health treatment. Connecticut lawmakers convened a group to study psilocybin last year and adjusted its state budget to fund therapy programs administering psychedelic treatments to veterans and retired first responders.

While more than 60 bills have been introduced around the country, the majority, including the Hawaii bill, are stalled in committee or have failed to get a vote. In Washington, legislators opted to study the substance after struggling to loosen restrictions. And in California, lawmakers transformed a bill to decriminalize use into one that would analyze policy.

In Colorado, the ballot measure’s victory marks the state’s second time making psychedelic history in three years. Denver became the first U.S. city to decriminalize psilocybin in 2019.

You can use your operating system to open your shares.

The shares will be mounted on your desktop when you log on to the Mac operating system. If the shares don't mount on the desktop, open a Finder window and look at SHARED.

If the shares are visible in SHARED but not visible on the desktop, you can change the settings in Finder to display connected server on your desktop.

You can back up your data if you so choose.

If your disk fails, you should use RAID to keep your NAS running. RAID does not offer protection against all types of hardware failure, and it is not a backup solution. It is recommended that administrators back up their data to DAS or another NAS on a regular basis.

A share on your computer network can be used as a backup target.

Make sure the user has access to the share. All associated computer backups will also be deleted if the target share is deleted.

Time Machine must be enabled in the OS before a share can be used as a backup.

You should have your NAS configured to be a media server.

To get started, you need to enable UPnP/DLNA at the device manager. Once enabled, players connected to your network can play files on your NAS. There are many examples of UPnP/DLNA players.

The media files on public shares can be identified without the need for a password. If you keep media files on private shares, make sure that your device is capable of requesting credentials.

To take an inventory of multimedia files, you can re-index your DAS and NAS shares connected to the ports.

If files appear to be missing on your multimedia shares or connected devices, you should start a re-index.

The total capacity of your storage and the size of your multimedia library are the two most important factors in determining the time for index.

If you have created many shares on your NAS, re-indexing can tax theCPU's resources If you are going to start the re-index, consider shutting off multimedia support for shares that don't have media files.

Your computer can act as a server. Audio files will be made available to compatible devices on the network if you copy your iTunes library to a share on your NAS. The public share is the easiest way to access the network. To limit access to an iTunes library, use a private share.

Transferring files from one computer to another via the local network or the internet is called a file transfer. Only people with a user account will have access to the files, as only people with a user account can securely exchange files.
