Some onlists criticize newer versions of the KJV for not having some of the same verse as the original. Some of the passages in John 5 and John 7 are not included in the NLT, NASV, ESV, and NWT versions.
Most of the newer versions do not have the Johannine Comma ("the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one"), because it is not found in any of the early manuscripts. However, KJV onlists often defend this reading by citing the early church fathers, who sometimes used phrases similar to the reading. The reading is defended by the corruption of the first texts.
