The fiber and protein content of peas is thought to help slow digestion, which, in turn, can help smooth out blood sugar levels after eating. Peas also rank low on the glycemic index scale, with a glycemic index of 22. (The glycemic index is a ranking of how carbohydrate foods affect blood sugar.)

The Euro 2020 was the 16th edition of the European tournament. The tournament was originally going to be played in 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
For the first time, the final phase of the European Championship was going to have cities from 13 different associations on the continent as venues, according to a decision adopted in January 2013 by the UEFA Executive Committee, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this competition. The continental organization had prepared reports that were presented to its Executive Committee, which determined on September 19, 2014, in Geneva (Switzerland), the 13 cities that would host the tournament.
Due to delays with the construction of the Eurostadium (Brussels), this venue was discarded in 2017: a total of 12 venues remained. In addition, due to the impossibility of public attendance in Dublin (Ireland) and Bilbao (Spain), these venues were replaced in 2021; in the first case the parties were transferred to the also designated St. Petersburg (Russia); while in the second, Seville (Spain) was the emerging replacement.
The Italian team won the tournament for the second time after defeating England in a penalty shoot out in the final match at Wembley Stadium.
The tournament was called "Euro 2020" despite having been held in 2021.
At least nine stadiums are necessary to host the championship in the current 24-team format; of these, at least eight must have a capacity of more than 30,000 seats, three of these eight must have more than 40,000 seats and a 4-star rating, and at least one of those three must have 50,000 seats and a 5-star rating.
Due to the experience of the last World Cup Soccer tournaments, 9 to 12 stadiums are needed to host this competition. Only offers from large countries or joint offers from two or more medium-sized countries would be preferred.
The bidding ended on May 16, 2012 Turkey's bid was joined by Celtic from Scotland, Wales and Ireland, as well as joint bids fromMoldova and Romania.
The process was stopped when the European soccer governing body announced that Euro 2020 would be held in various cities across the continent.
There are Member Associations that submitted applications for the standard package.
Host proposals for the semi-final/ final package bids were submitted by member associations.
Initially, the city of Brussels (Belgium) had been chosen to be one of the 13 host cities for the tournament, but due to the fact that the Eurostadium did not meet the conditions imposed by the UEFA Executive Committee, it decided that the four matches (three from the group stage and one from the round of 16) that were initially going to be played in Brussels were played at Wembley Stadium in London.
On April 23, 2021, the UEFA Executive Committee decided to transfer the matches to be played at the Bilbao venue to the La Cartuja Stadium, in Seville, and those at the Dublin venue to the Krestovski Stadium, in Saint Petersburg (which already was designated among the winners), after the problems in both venues to host matches with fans.
The host cities were grouped into six pairs based on sporting level and taking into account geographical considerations and security restrictions. A random draw assigned the groups on December 7, 2017: Each qualified host country will play at least two matches.
The following are the pairs.
The home games of the host teams are defined by the following criteria.
If a host team fails to make the play-offs, the path winner will take the host's place in the match schedule and play all two or three matches based on the criteria in the host's home city. The draw will take place on November 22nd, at the headquarters of the European football governing body in Switzerland.
The 55 national associations affiliated with the European soccer confederation participated in the qualification for Euro 2020.
The Kosovo national team made its debut in the European competition after being admitted to the league in May of 2016
This was the first time in which the qualifiers for the Euro Cup came from two different tournaments: the Euro 2020 Qualifying, which assigned places to 20 teams, and the new UEFA Nations League 2018-19, which awarded the 4 places remaining for the tournament. It was also the first time since 1984 in which the qualifiers were played with all UEFA teams, including those of the federations or associations in charge of organizing the tournament , since in the Eurocopas from 1960 to 1980 the organizing countries of the final phase also participated in the qualifiers.
The 55 participants in the tournament will be divided into 10 groups, 5 of which are made up of 6 teams and the other 5 teams.
The top two in each group will compete in Euro 2020. Each league had a total of four groups in the UEFA Nations League. These leagues were made up according to the UEFA team ranking of November 15, 2017; the best were in League A and the worst in League D. Leagues A and B were made up of 12 teams divided into four groups of three teams; League C had 15 teams divided into a group of 3 teams and the other 3 groups of 4 teams; and League D had 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams. The winner of each group went on to play a knockout round with a direct elimination system where the four winners of each league qualified for Euro 2020. Portugal won the tournament after defeating the Netherlands in the final.
The classification system made it possible for teams that have never played in a Euro Cup to get a place in the tournament, and also allowed low-level teams to play in the highest national team tournament.
The draw for the group stage of the Nations League took place in Lausanne, Switzerland on January 24, 2018, while the draw for the qualification took place in Dublin, Ireland on December 2, not counting the play-offs.
The countries that are new in the competition.
The coach trains a selection.
The headquarters of the base camps of each of the teams participating in the championship were announced on Monday, May 17, 2021.
The draw for the final tournament took place on November 30, at 18: 30 local time, EET, at Romexpo in Bucharest, Romania. The four play-off teams are not known at the time of the draw, and will be identified as play-off winners. The principles will apply.
The standard composition of the pots is according to the general classification of the European qualifiers.
The emergency panel will make a decision if necessary, based on the principle that the moves will have minimal impact on the original draw.
The draw will begin with pot 1 and end with pot 4 from where a team is drawn and assigned to the first available group. The group's position will be drawn as well. There are certain conditions that apply in the draw.
It's impossible to anticipate every possible scenario because of a possible culmination of the circumstances.
Potential problems and their solutions will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by the administration. Depending on the teams that qualify via the play-offs, the following conditions could apply.
The seeding heads will be located in the group that is indicated between parentheses.
The group stage matches will be decided according to the draw.
The positions for the schedule don't use the draw pots, and instead use the draw positions, which is why team 1 is not necessarily team 1 of pot 1 in the draw.
The Euro 2020 is divided into two phases. The elimination phase is a first group phase.
The 24 teams are divided into 6 groups of 4 teams and each team plays one game against the other teams in its group in the group stage. The teams are ranked based on points earned.
If two or more teams finish their group stage matches tied on points, the tie-break criteria apply in order of appearance.
If after applying the three previous criteria there are teams that still maintain equality, the final position is determined by the matches played between these teams.
If this procedure does not lead to a decision, the following criteria apply.
If two teams that have the same number of points and the same number of goals scored and conceded play the last match of their group against each other and are tied at the end of the match, their final position in the group will be determined by penalties, provided that there are no teams within the group that have the same points at the end of the matches. If there are more than two teams with the same points, the criteria should be applied.
The six group winners, the six second places and the four best third places qualify for the knockout phase to play in the round of 16
The table is drawn up only with the third places of each group, and these teams are ranked in order of appearance.
The knockout phase includes the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final.
The knockout phase matches are played on a knockout basis. If there is no winner after 90 minutes of regulatory playing time, there will be two periods of 15 minutes each. The winner is determined by penalties if the tie goes on for more than an hour.
The round of 16 pairs were defined.
The third places in games 3, 4, 6 and 8 will be matched up in the next round.
The eight winners of the round of 16 will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals were defined as follows:
The winners of the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals.
Two matches are played in this instance
The winner of the semifinals will play the winner of the tournament final.
The times are given by the list provided by UEFA.
For the Round of 16.
One of the best third parties was classified for the Round of 16.
