I decided to use solution 3 after considering pros and cons. The procedure to create a new partition is the same as before.

If the procedure shown below is carried out wrong, Windows will not boot and there will be a loss of information. I am not responsible for the damages that may occur in your case.

We have to open the disk manager.

The mouse pointer is placed over the start button. Click on the Disk Manager option when the menu appears.

I don't have enough room to create a new partition. The C: partition has free space.

I will use the mouse to select drive C, then press the right mouse button when the menu appears, and then I will use the Reduce Volume option.

Next, we will tell you that we want to reduce partition C's space by 500 MB by pressing the Reduce button.

500 MB is a generous amount of space to generate the partition. 99% of users should have more than 300MB.

We can see that partition C: has been reduced by 500MB and a new 500MB volume has been generated which will be used to create the UEFI partition.

The first thing we need to do is open the console with administrator privileges to create the new partition.

We will use the diskpart command to start the utility that will help us manage Windows partition.

The list disk command is used to see all the disks on the computer. In my case, I only have one disk that is labeled Disk 0.

We will execute the sel disk 0 command after selecting the hard disk.

The list partition command is used to list the partition after the disk has been selected.

The create partition efi command will create the UEFI partition.

If we access the Windows disk manager, we will see that a 500MB partition has been created.

We will format the partition we just created and then assign the system label using the following command.

We will assign the letter M: to the partition we just formatted using the following command.

The next step is to list the volumes and partition to make sure that all the steps have been completed correctly.

We will execute the command list vol and then the list part.

If you observe, you will see that partition 5 has 500MB and is a system type. The boot files can now be copied into the new partition.

The diskpart utility will be exited by running the exit command.

The following command will allow us to copy/generate the boot files in the UEFI partition that we just created.

You should replace M: with the letter that you have assigned to the partition.

We can restart the computer once the new partition is created. When you start the boot process, you have to access the boot menu and select the second entry to boot the equipment.

We will use the 500 MB partition we just created to make the computer boot.

To access the boot menu, I have to press the F7 key when my computer starts to boot. If F7 doesn't work for you, try other keys such as F8, F12, F2, Del, etc., because the key to press will vary.

The procedure that has been carried out so far has worked perfectly if the computer starts up without problems.

We can do a dual boot with Linux without having to worry about space in the /boot/efi partition. I recommend that you uninstall the UEFI partition before starting the dual boot installation process.
