CRLAF called back to say that her application for relief assistance from California's DRAI program was approved. The voice of de ella broke as she expressed her gratitude.

The Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants project was a one-time state-funded disaster relief payment for adult immigrants who were not eligible for federal unemployment benefits or the CARES Act.

CRLAF was one of twelve nonprofits in the state to help people apply for and receive disaster relief assistance. 65 additional temporary workers were hired to answer thousands of phone calls to screen applicants.

CRLAF collaborated with a number of other community based organizations to ensure that our outreach was as broad as possible.

The project distributed $4,586,500 to a total of 9,173 individuals.

There are thousands of families like the one of Dolores' who have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. We had to turn away at least 40,000 people because of fund restrictions and exhaustion.
