TNT is closing the book on Major Crimes.
The Mary McDonnell procedural is set to end after its upcoming sixth season, the cabler announced Tuesday.
The sixth season is set to premiere Oct. 31 on the Turner-owned network, with the two-hour series finale dated for Jan. 16. This upcoming season will also see the cop drama celebrate its 100th episode.
“The whole company of Major Crimes is dedicated to making 2017-18 the best season yet,” said series creator James Duff. “We will finish our long run on TNT with a finale worthy of our loyal viewers and their years of unstinting support.”
A spinoff of The Closer, Major Crimes launched in 2012 following the former show’s series finale. The Closer, which starred Kyra Sedgwick in her Emmy-winning role, ran for seven seasons and became one of TNT’s biggest hits. While Sedgwick and future Oscar winner J.K. Simmons both departed, many of The Closer’s ensemble moved to Major Crimes, led by McDonnell, who reprised her recurring role from the original series.
“Major Crimes has successfully navigated the many challenges that arise with a spinoff; the primary mission of which is staying true to its core DNA while expanding into unique territory all its own,” said TNT’s exec vp original programming Sarah Aubrey. “From Brenda Leigh Johnson to Commander Sharon Raydor, the cast and crew have done a phenomenal job of creating enduring characters — many of whom are celebrating 200 episodes together this season.”
The decision to end Major Crimes despite its ongoing popularity comes as TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly continues to push both cable channels toward more prestige offerings, such as Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior and Claws. In addition to Major Crimes, the hit cop drama Rizzoli & Isles wrapped in 2016 after a seven-season run. TNT’s other original dramas include The Librarians and The Last Ship.
The cabler’s upcoming slate includes ambitious period drama The Alienist as well as the Chris Pine six-part series One Day She’ll Darken.
Since Reilly took over, TNT, like many other platforms, has leaned more toward shows produced in-house through Turner’s Studio T. However, both Claws and Animal Kingdom, like Major Crimes, hail from Warner Bros TV.

Getting in touch with your energy company isn’t always the easiest task. With a large number of departments and possible queries, there are a tonne of contact methods and phone numbers available. Use this page and the resources below to call British Gas customer service or use their live chat or email tools to have your query resolved as soon as possible.
British Gas has a number of different ways that you can submit a meter reading. Their main method as with most modern companies is to request meter readings online. You can do this through your online portal or by setting up a new account if you are moving into a new house.
If you would like to speak to a human, you can still call British Gas customer service directly and submit your meter readings over the phone.
Below you can see the available methods of contacting British Gas to give your meter readings, both online and over the phone:
Whether your smart meter isn’t sending meter readings, it won’t stop beeping, or your in-home display (IHD) has gone blank, it can be a pain when your smart meter stops being so smart.
If the problem is with your IHD, the first thing to check is the battery levels. If it’s not plugged in, your IHD has roughly 4 hours worth of battery life, so it’s usually easier to keep it plugged in so you don’t encounter this problem.
If you have an older smart meter (SMETS1) and you’ve recently switched to British Gas, it may be that your smart meter has reverted to ‘dumb mode’. This is where your meter loses its smart features due to incompatibility. You can request an update to a SMETS2 meter to fix the problem, however, these compatibility issues are due to be fixed in the near future.
If neither of these are the problem, you should contact British Gas through their live chat service or by calling 0333 202 9816. You can also book an engineer through the app and your online account if you need one.

There are some added steps, however, in the case that there’s an error with the meter.
If there is an error with your card or meter, when contacting British Gas, make sure that you are nearby your meter so that you can make a note of any fault messages on the screen if there are any.
