पहले तो ये जान लीजिए कि खुदाई करने वाली जिस मशीन को आप आसान भाषा में जेसीबी (JCB) बोलते हैं, वो दरअसल इस मशीन का नहीं बल्कि उस कंपनी का नाम है. ये कंपनी करीब 80 साल से कंस्ट्रक्शन साइट के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाली मशीनों को बनाती है. खुदाई करने वाली इस मशीन को बैकहो लोडर कहते हैं. इसी तरह हर मशीन का अलग अलग नाम होता है. कंपनी ने 1945 में ही ऐसी मशीन का निर्माण कर दिया था. इस कंपनी के मालिक और फाउंडर ब्रिटेन के अरबपति Joseph Cyrill Bamford थे.

JCB ने पहला बैकहो लोडर 1953 में बनाया था. खास बात यह है कि तब ये नीले और लाल रंग में आती थी. इसके बाद इसे अपग्रेड करते हुए साल 1964 में एक बैकहो लोडर बनाया गया और इसे पीला रंग दिया गया. इसके बाद से ही मशीन को लगातार पीले रंग में रंगा गया. यहां तक कि अन्य कंपनियां भी कंस्ट्रक्शन साइट पर इस्तेमाल होने वाली मशीनों का रंग पीला ही रखती हैं.

JCB या क्रेन या फिर कंस्ट्रक्शन साइट पर इस्तेमाल होने वाली इन मशीनों के पीला होने की एक वजह है. दरअसल, इस रंग के जरिए यानी जेसीबी से खुदाई वाली जगह (लोकेशन) आसानी से दिख जाती है. फिर चाहे दिन हो या रात. आसान भाषा में समझें तो इन मशीनों का पीला रंग सिर्फ सिक्योरिटी को देखते हुए किया गया. फिर यह सिलसिला आगे भी जारी रहा.
