You accidentally deleted files and you want to recover them, let's see how restore your work.

The first step, of course, is to make backups as often as possible !By backups I mean backups of your images (.png) but also of your source files in .procreate format (the most important: this file format saves all your layers!). To know how to back up on procreate, I invite you to read my article on the subject.

Before, I only saved files in .png format. And then a tragedy happened to me: that of losing all my data following a bug on my Ipad 😥 a difficult ordeal, which took with it hundreds of hours of work (and the source files of all my clients! ).

Since then, I can tell you that I no longer make the mistake: I regularly make backups.

Once your saved source files on your Ipad, I recommend that you export them via ICloud or Google Drive, so that you can find later, from any device, whatever happens to your Ipad (theft, breakdown).

If you have them saved beforehand, in order to recover, you just need from the gallery Procreate to click on Import at the top right of your screen, and search on your Ipad for the previously saved file.

In order to avoid any disappointment, I want to warn you that I do not guarantee that it will work… But here is a solution to consider!

When you are in the main menu of Procreate, click on "Procreate" at the top left of your screen. Two buttons appear, click on "Start the gallery recovery" page (in French).

Normally this button should allow you to get your job back, however, as for my part I changed Ipad in the meantime, I could not recover the gallery of my old Ipad. So I am interested in your feedback on this subject: can you tell me if this has allowed you to recover your deleted data ?
