There were so many amazing hosts and musical guests for SNL Season 47, meaning this year’s line-up has a lot to live up to as far as we are concerned. Luckily, the schedule boasts some truly exceptional and versatile talents and convinces us that the legendary sketch comedy series is in for a good 48th run, during which a number of new cast members will also be introduced. The following is a list of all the celebrities scheduled to bring the laughs and/or the tunes this season.

Nearly a year after leaving after leaving the cast, Pete Davidson is returning to Saturday Night Live for his hosting debut on the first show in May. The following month, fans of the comedian and star of movies and TV shows like Bodies Bodies Bodies and the upcoming Peacock comedy, Bupkis, can hear him voice Mirage in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Making their first appearance on Studio 8H that night is Lil Uzi Vert, who is known for the breakthrough 2016 hit "Money Longer" their featured spot on Migos' "Bad and Boujee." According to Deadline, the rapper also has an interesting, tangential connection to our host, having once gotten a matching tattoo with Kanye West -- the former husband of Davidson's ex-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

Making his hosting debut in the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live’s 48th season (which featured a spoof of the Charmin Bears eerily similar to a comedian’s own animated short) was Miles Teller, who showed an old home movie of him and his sister recreating Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri’s famous Spartan Cheerleaders sketch in his monologue. Before then, the actor did a spot-on Peyton Manning impersonation and was joined by fellow Top Gun: Maverick cast member Jon Hamm for a cold open framed as a live commentary of the season premiere by the former NFL player and his brother, Eli (Andrew Dismukes).

Teller was joined by a musical guest who was most definitely not a first-timer and put on yet another great show at Studio 8H. For his third time on SNL, Grammy and Oscar-winning hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar took a break from his concert tour promoting his latest album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers to perform new tracks “N95,” “Rich Spirit,” and “Father Time” – the last of which he had some help with from Sampha.

Hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time on October 8, 2022 was Harry Potter movies star Brendan Gleeson, whose previous work in comedy ranges from light (such as Paddington 2) to dark (such as 2008’s In Bruges). Speaking of which, his co-star from that film and Martin McDonough's 2022 drama The Banshees of Insherin, fellow Irishman Colin Farrell, joined Gleeson onstage for a song during his monologue and in a sketch later that night.

Gleeson was, technically, joined that night by a fellow first-timer: Willow, who performed a pair of tracks from her new album -- the second of which ended with her smashing her guitar into a TV set on stage. While this was the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s first time performing songs on SNL on her own, she made a surprise appearance alongside Camila Cabello last season in April 2022.

Saturday Night Live’s 47th season boasted a few memorable episodes of non-actors who still killed it as hosts and as musical guests, namely Billie Eilish in December 2021 and Lizzo the following April. The first artist to pull double duty like this for Season 48 was Megan Thee Stallion.

The rapper previously showed that she does have a knack for comedy when she appeared as herself to twerk on She-Hulk. Outside of performing a couple tracks from her new album, Traumazine, Megan Thee Stallion also participated in a music video-style sketch that explores the awkwardness of being the new friends at a reunion between childhood buddies.

Serving as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live for Halloween weekend was  Jack Harlow, who released his second album, Come Home the Kids Miss You, earlier this year. This was the Grammy-nominated rapper's second time performing music on SNL and first-time hosting, meaning he made his acting debut in Studio 8H before starring in the upcoming remake of White Men Can't Jump.

Stealing the show from the Harlow, however, was an SNL host hall-of-famer: Tom Hanks. The two-time Academy Award winner appeared in two sketches -- one as a fictional version of himself appearing at an AA meeting that turns into a Pixar movie brainstorming session and another that saw the return of one of his best SNL characters, David S. Pumpkins, for the first time since 2017.

Following the return of her Emmy-winning sketch comedy series, Inside Amy Schumer, as a Paramount+ exclusive, Amy Schumer returned to host Saturday Night Live for the third time. The comedian -- who also took a more dramatic turn in 2022 with Hulu's Life & Beth, which she also created -- did a set of jokes in her monologue about her experience with pregnancy and her relationship with her husband, Chris Fischer, whom she revealed has autism in her 2019 stand-up special, Growing.

Making his SNL debut that night was Steve Lacy, who first became known as the guitarist for the band The Internet before releasing his debut solo studio album, Apollo XXI, in 2019. The artist played a pair of songs from his new follow-up release, Gemini Rights — namely “Bad Habit” and “Helmet.”

For his third time hosting Saturday Night Live, Dave Chappelle brought his bold and sometimes controversial sense of humor back to Studio 8H the weekend after the 2022 midterm elections, which he commented on in his monologue. He also brought his Chappelle's Show co-star, Donnell Rawlings, for a House of the Dragon parody that featured some of the Comedy Central sketch series' most iconic characters.

Chappelle's first time hosting also saw the reunion of legendary rap group A Tribe Called Quest and, this time, saw another pair of hip-hop legends coming back together. Yasin Bey (also known as Mos Def) and Talib Kweli -- collectively known as Black Star -- made their SNL debut performing songs from their second album (and first in 24 years), No Fear of Time.

After leading the Nope cast in what was, arguably, the biggest movie of her career (so far) earlier in 2022, Keke Palmer hosted Saturday Night Live for the season's first December episode. The night was full of surprises -- including Palmer confirming recent pregnancy rumors in her monologue, a reunion between Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell in a sketch sending up their Nickelodeon sitcom, and a Natasha Leone cameo.

SZA, who appeared on the show as a musical guest for the second time, also confirmed the title and release date of her upcoming album after previously dropping subtle hints. After a performance of the song "Shirt," a screen behind the Oscar nominee (for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on "All the Stars" from Black Panther) announced that S.O.S. comes out December 9.

One of the most celebrated SNL hosts of all time is Steve Martin, who has shared the screen with one of the most beloved former SNL cast members, Martin Short, countless times -- including in The Three Amigos or among the Only Murders in the Building cast on Hulu. However, this night marked the first time the duo joined forces as headliners for an episode in which they reprised their roles from the Father of the Bride movies in a sketch that also featured Succession's Kieran Culkin.

While Martin and Short have been known to collaborate musically as well, the musical interludes that night would be handled by Brandi Carlile, who released her eighth studio album, In the Canyon Haze, in September. The Grammy-winning folk-pop sensation's first performance was a rendition of her breakout hit, "The Story."

Accepting hosting duties for the holiday-heavy final Saturday Night Live episode of 2022 was first-time host and the lead of Baz Luhrmann's stunning biopic, Elvis, Austin Butler. While Butler could keep Studio 8H hopping by performing music with his mean Elvis Presley impersonation, chart-topping singer, flutist, and expert twerker Lizzo -- who hosted for the first time last season -- served as musical guest for the third time.

However, all eyes were on cast member Cecily Strong, who said goodbye to her SNL family after 11 years while in character as Cathy Anne announcing she was going to prison. Her final episode ended with Butler and the cast serenading the Schmigadoon! star with a rendition of "Blue Christmas."

Kicking off the new year at Studio 8H by headlining Saturday Night Live's first episode of 2023 was Aubrey Plaza for her hosting debut. After a monologue referencing her  days as an NBC page, the White Lotus Season 2 cast member poked fun at the HBO show in a sketch called "The Black Lotus" and later reprised her role as April Ludgate, alongside fellow Parks and Recreation cast veteran Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope on "Weekend Update."

Returning for their third gig as a musical guest was Grammy winner and Academy Award winner (for 2015's Spectre theme song, "Writing's on the Wall") Sam Smith. As expected, they performed their recent hit, "Unholy," with help from Kim Petras, but unexpectedly, was joined for the song "Gloria" by Academy Award nominee Sharon Stone, who also appeared in a film noir-inspired sketch.

The year 2023 is a year of many firsts for Michael B. Jordan, including making his directorial debut with Creed III, which hits theaters in March, and hosting Saturday Night Live. After showing a clip of his time on All my Children during his monologue, Black Panther's Killmonger actor played an eclectic variety of hilarious characters -- such as a stripper who brings his pregnant wife to a house call and a weather man who was left on a roller for way too long.

The musical guest for Jordan's SNL debut was Lil Baby. The Grammy-winning rap performed two songs from his third studio album, It's Only Me -- namely "Californian Breeze" and "Forever."

After taking on the harsh worlds of a distant galaxy, the apocalypse, and other bizarre terrain, Pedro Pascal faced the ultimate challenge for the first time: hosting Saturday Night Live. His debut gig was low on references to his return as Din Djarin on Season 3 of The Mandalorian, but did, sort of, poke fun at his role in HBO's The Last of Us cast with a sketch imagining a gritty adaptation of Mario Kart for HBO.

Returning to Studio 8H for the seventh time as that night's musical guest Coldplay, who first performed the English-language version of "The Astronaut" -- a song they co-wrote with Jin from BTS. Their second performance started with a choir-backed rendition of "Human Heart" from their Grammy-nominated latest album, Music of the Spheres, before immediately following it with a classic: "Fix You."

Joining the Five-Timer's Club on the last SNL show of February was Woody Harrelson. The three-time Academy Award nominee made a few jokes about the honor throughout the episode before finally being brought his jacket by fellow club member, Scarlett Johansson.

Also receiving a jacket that night -- following Harrelson's joke about whether or not musical guests are also eligible -- was Jack White. The former guitarist and lead singer for The White Stripes brought the house down, first with two songs from his 2021 album, Fear of the Dawn, before playing "A Tip from You to Me" off his latest release, Entering Heaven Alone, for his encore.

Instead of going to Disneyland to celebrate his recent Super Bowl victory, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce celebrated by hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time. He was not the only NFL star to appear, though, as Kelce's own brother, Jason (whom he competed against in the big game), also made a couple cameos.

Coincidentally, that night's musical guest was someone whose first name is homonymous with the host's last name: Kelsea Ballerini. The Grammy-nominated country singer played two tracks from her latest album, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, for her first time performing at Studio 8H.

SNL welcomed on Jenna Ortega the weekend that Scream VI — her latest horror movie — came to theaters. Ortega was also joined by her Wednesday cast co-star Fred Armisen during her monologue and in a Parent Trap parody sketch that Lindsay Lohan dug, and she also checked "play a possessed young girl" off her Scream Queen bucket list.

Returning to the studio that night for their second appearance -- and first since 2016 -- was The 1975. The British rock band performed two tracks from their latest album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language -- namely "I'm in Love with You" and "Oh Caroline."

After winning an Emmy for writing the Abbott Elementary pilot and later appearing alongside numerous comedy icons in the History of the World Part II cast more recently, Quinta Brunson received her highest honor as a humorist yet: hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time. She opened the show revealing her dreams of being on SNL, showing video message she shot for her mother with former president Barack Obama, and showing her appreciation for the teachers of the real world.

The episode -- broadcasted on April Fool's Day -- was also the SNL debut for Lil Yachty, who served as musical guest that night. The Grammy-nominated rap artist, joined by Diana Gordon, performed two groovy slow jams off of his most recent album, Let's Start Here, which came out last year.

Following Martin Short's return to Studio 8H in December, the second former Saturday Night Live cast member to serve as host this season was Molly Shannon. The A Good Person star only made a few references to her best-known character, Mary Katherine Gallagher, but did officially bring back underwhelming comedian Jeannie Darcy and the forever 50-year-old Sally O'Malley, who loves to "kick, stretch, and kick," for her first hosting gig since 2007.

Serving as musical guest for the first time since 2019 (and for the third time overall) was the Jonas Brothers. Kevin, Joe, and Nick performed a couple songs off of their upcoming sixth studio release, which is simply titled, The Album.
