Let me first give you some background on vPC and Enhanced vPC and then try and answer your specific questions.

Enhanced vPC is a method that allows the connection of FEX in an active-active manner using vPC between the FEX and upstream Nexus switch, and at the same time connection of a device to the FEX host interfaces with a vPC.

When the FEX was originally introduced it could only be connected to a single upstream switch in what's referred to as FEX "straight through" mode. In Cisco NX-OS 4.1(3)N1 the vPC feature was introduced that allowed the FEX to be connected in an "active-active" manner i.e., dual-homed.

The problem with FEX active-active at that time was that the servers connected to the host interfaces of the FEX could not be connected using port-channels i.e., link aggregation.

What Enhanced vPC does is to remove that limitation such that we can have FEX active-active with vPC to the upstream Nexus switch, and at the same time connect hosts with port-channels.

Each of the three models is shown in the attached diagram.

In terms of support for Enhanced vPC, that is available from NX-OS 5.1(3)N1 on the Nexus 5500 series switches and on the Nexus 6000 series switches. There is no support for Enhanced vPC on the Nexus 7000 series switch currently.

When connecting FEX to Nexus 7000 switches, active-active is not supported today i.e., up to and including NX-OS 6.2. To see what topologies are supported in the Nexus 7000, take a look at the  document Nexus 7000 Fex Supported/Not Supported Topologies.

I'd say because the leading zeros don't have any importance when cast to an integer.

Maybe you should leave it as a string if you need those leading zeroes, and only cast (int) on any math needed to be performed (though you could just use the string too, PHP will figure it out)

After seeing the example, I'd want to echo the value before you cast to string (so I can confirm something fishy isn't going on with you QuoteSmart method (or the value your sending as a param, $gate)

Edit: It looks like I misunderstood the question - he was having trouble with newlines in his JS, not his final HTML.

Your JavaScript is coming out on separate lines because of the """ at the end of the string, but then you're outputting plain text into your HTML document. HTML does not break lines unless you're in a pre-formatted block (like pre) or you give it an explicit break (like br).

You probably want your code to look like this:

Just be very careful of your data - inserting random strings into your HTML is a fast way to get security holes.

I downloaded a copy of paypalfunctions.php but it doesn't send strings. Instead it uses curl with the CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS parameter to send all the variables as HTTP POST (separate fields in the POST body) instead of a long GET string.

I suggest using something like tcpdump and Wikeshark to capture and review what is actually sent to PayPal. If you get the same problem again, you can show them the tcpdump to show them that you actually sent the correct string.

PS: Note that if you sent it according to your TCP logs, that still does not mean that PayPal actually recieves that. I vividly remember hunting down a strange issue with HTTP POST at my former employer. My TCP dump said I sent it. Their TCP dump said they didn't get it. After weeks it turned out there was a misconfigured transparent proxy halfway between us and them. It accidentally had deep packet inspection turned on to remove certain parts of HTTP POST forms. "Oops" said the network provider.

The expression .* matches both var1 and var1/var2 thus the first rule is applied on both.

So you have to specify it that the first rule only matches var1. This can be done by replacing . (any character) by [^/] (any character except /). So try this:
