DHL (Dalsey, Hillblom, and Lynn) is the courier service division of Deutsche Post HL, which is one of the largest logistics services networks in the world. Headquartered in Bonn, Germany, the DHL’s courier services cover over 220 countries and offer Express delivery, freight forwarding, and warehousing.

DHL’s standard delivery operations throughout Europe runs from Mondays to Saturdays. But, even around the world, the company allows you to request your package to be delivered on weekends when you book your shipment. That’s because being able to deliver on any day is very important for urgent or special orders especially for the eCommerce industry.

Sometimes, customers can only be at the delivery address during this time; often, they need last-minute shipping for special occasions like Christmas or birthdays. That’s why any savvy eCommerce retailer will take advantage of maximized sales opportunities by offering out-of-hours delivery options.

As previously mentioned, DHL deliveries on Saturday are widely available in Europe. To use these delivery services, simply select the option when booking your shipment. Delivery is available for an additional surcharge of €40 per shipment. For this service, parcels are usually picked up on Friday to be delivered the next day. Pickup is also available for an additional €20 per shipment. However, it should be noted that these prices and services are only available in the Benelux region. In addition, DHL delivery hours on Saturday are usually limited to the morning.

Well, the answer really depends on where you live. For example, in the US, DHL doesn’t deliver that day (or at all on weekends). But, in countries like the UAE, DHL offers Sunday pickup and deliveries. It simply uses local post offices in countries where it’s a normal working day (like the UAE). In other countries, only urgent packages can be delivered with same-day delivery. Of course, these come with significant additional charges. DHL delivery times on the weekends are much shorter than normal days - deliveries are usually made in the morning.

To use these services, simply select the DHL Saturday Delivery option when you book your shipment. Delivery on Sunday is only offered for urgent shipments, and at high additional fees. DHL delivery in the US is usually only offered during regular working hours i.e. Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. However, for urgent deliveries, you can request special deliveries on weekends. These will incur significant extra charges but can be useful if you urgently need to ship a package.

DHL delivers throughout Europe from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm. Deliveries are also made to the Benelux. However, DHL does not deliver to the Wadden Sea Islands in the Netherlands unless it’s on weekdays. For weekend deliveries pickup is made on Friday. Special Sunday delivery can be organized with additional charges. Remember that DHL delivery times on this day are short, so be prepared for this.

In Malaysia, regular delivery is made from Monday to Friday, between 830am and 530pm. DHL delivery hours on Saturday are shorter - generally, they only operate between 830am and 1230pm.

In the Gulf countries, weekends fall on Friday and Saturday. However, Friday is the only day that delivery is not made. DHL partners with local post offices to offer deliveries on all other days..

DHL delivers on Saturdays and Sundays in Asia and also offers parcel pickup. In Asia, DHL even delivers on public holidays if required.

Down under, regular deliveries are made from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm. Exact timings depend on the size of the parcel and its destination address. Special deliveries can also be made on weekends if necessary.

DHL delivery times for Saturday largely depend on the region (and country) you’re sending from and delivering to. The same applies to DHL delivery times on Sundays. In many Christian countries, delivery on that day is not possible. But, in the Gulf, our regular weekends are normal working days so deliveries are made during regular working hours. However, under exceptional circumstances, you can request delivery at an extra charge.

Carolina Cardona is the IAF representative in Haiti.

Carolina served as the national director of the Peace Corps in the country from 2009 to 2013. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras in 1985. Carolina taught fifth grade in San Salvador and managed a reproductive health project for the International Rescue Committee in Azerbaijan. She worked on an occupational safety and health project at Farm Legal Service.

Carolina has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in public health from the University of North Carolina.

Jeremy Coon is in charge of regional initiatives in the Chaco.

Funding from him grants takes into account the historical, cultural, and economic contextual differences that influence the priorities of grassroots organizations in these three countries. Some focus areas include support of sustainable agricultural practices for smallholders, responsible tourism, business development, legal assistance, training of community leaders, and inclusion of women, indigenous populations, youth, Afro-descendants, and the disabled. There is a person Jeremy has 20 years of professional experience in international development and has specialized in small and medium-sized enterprise local economic development, business training, value chain finance, strategic planning, and NGOs capacity building. He worked at the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion network, and the Social Compact.

He supported many NGOs dedicated to development, health, culture and business education. Jeremy was a Peace Corps volunteer and lived in Brazil for a while. He received a master's degree in international development economics and a PhD in international development economics.

Ginger Deason has over 15 years of experience in grassroots community development, training and environmental education. Prior to joining the IAF, Ginger was pursuing a PhD in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at the North Carolina State University.

She worked with indigenous groups in southern Mexico on adaptation plans for climate change. She was a field coordinator for Heifer International, where she was responsible for grants and sustainable agriculture projects.

She worked for the Peace Corps in several countries, including in Washington, D.C., and was the grants and environmental education outreach manager at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. A graduate of North Carolina State University with a master's degree in natural resource management and a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American studies, Ginger is currently working as a teacher.

Mary Delorey is the representative of the foundation in Honduras. Prior to joining the IAF in 2016, she worked for nearly 15 years with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as a strategic affairs advisor in Latin America and the Caribbean region, providing technical assistance, policy analysis, and planning. strategic position on humanitarian, international development and human rights issues, particularly in the areas of migration, forced displacement and human trafficking.

Mary worked with international and local partners in Latin America and other regions to identify innovative practices, promote mutual learning, and develop sector-specific strategies and recommendations based on the needs and desires of local stakeholders. She recently offered advisory services to various international organizations on issues of forced displacement and migration in Mexico, workforce development programming for at-risk youth, and multi-sector initiatives to strengthen the protection of labor rights in agricultural supply chains. Mary worked on community organizing and human rights with indigenous populations in rural areas of Peru, as well as with street children in the United States, and in access to basic services for the homeless. She holds a master's degree in sociology and a master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland.

David Ivan Fleischer is the IAF representative in Brazil.

His curriculum in grassroots development grants focuses on supporting indigenous populations and quilombola communities. The environment and food safety are some of the topics that have been covered recently.

David was the executive director of the Association for Brazilian Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he was also the coordinator at the Lemann Institute for Brazilian Studies at the University of Illinois.

He has held various positions with the United Nations, including being an advisor to the Global Environment Facility. There is a David received a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the State University of New York at Albany, an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Brasilia, and a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of New York.

He has carried out research in Brazil and Mexico. He is currently co-editing a book. David is a graduate assistant professor at the George Washington University.

The IAF representative for Mexico is also the representative for El Salvador.

After joining the IAF team in 2007, the work that he did included supporting organizations that promote smallholder agriculture, business development, the inclusion of women and youth, and innovative mechanisms to engage the Latin American diaspora in the community development. There is a person Coprodeli, a non-profit organization in Arequipa, was the leader in creating micro-entrepreneurs in marginalized communities, whose efforts connect with the Peruvian diaspora. He was a program officer for the Institute of International Education's development initiatives in the Middle East.

Rosemarie Moreken is the IAF representative in El Salvador, and she has also served as an evaluation specialist. Since 1997 she has worked with data auditors in 18 Latin American and Caribbean countries. She started focus group work on migration and designed a questionnaire about the role of women in projects.

The Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) has a history of working on emergency and development interventions in Sudan. She has worked with the International Education Fund in Costa Rica, as well as as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala and as a technical training supervisor in Paraguay. She received her masters degree in international affairs from Columbia University.
