I don't really care about saints, but I think I should promote the idea because I am a resident of St Albans. If Scotland were to leave the UK, the flag would have to be changed, so why not replace the cross of St Andrew with the one of St Alban? The colors of the X might clash because it is yellow instead of white.

St Alban was the first English martyr and is recognized by the major branches of the Church Orthodox, Anglican and Catholic. The shrine in St Albans is visited by all denominations.I think he would make a better patron saint.

The UK has a small percentage of Christians. They wouldn't know who St Alban was.St George, come to think of it...Changing the patron saint would not be on the national priorities. The flag would need to be changed.
