As someone who struggled with consistency in Bible reading for years, what finally worked for me was changing my approach from "study" to "relationship." Here's my practical advice:

Morning and evening touchpoints: I read a small portion in the morning and reflect on it throughout the day, then revisit it in the evening. This "soaking" approach has been much more effective than cramming.

Context matters: Understanding the historical and cultural background of passages has made them stick better. A good study Bible or Bible project videos can help with this.

Prayerful reading: Before opening Scripture, I pray "Holy Spirit, plant this Word deeply in me today." This simple prayer has made a huge difference in retention and application.

Don't neglect the Psalms - the emotional honesty and poetry of the Psalms has a unique way of sinking deep into the heart. Many find they naturally memorize these passages without even trying!

The key is finding what works for YOUR learning style and schedule. Legalism kills the joy - approach it as a loving relationship, not a religious duty.
