Ice needs a lot of heat just to melt. This melting process pulls heaps more warmth out of your drink than just cold water can.

This is a very good question. The answer is a little complicated. There is not one single person who founded zero. It was more an idea that grew over time. Many cultures had a concept for ‘nothing’.

But zero as a number we use in maths... this comes from ancient India. A mathematician named Brahmagupta is very important. Around the year 628, he wrote the first real rules for using zero in calculations. For example, he showed that a number plus zero is the same number. So, it is not one founder, but a concept perfected in India.
