Rani Durgavati was a queen in India. This was back in the 1500s. She was the ruler of a kingdom called Gondwana. Her husband was the king, but he died young. So, she took over and ruled for her little son.

People say she was a very good leader. Her kingdom did very well. But she is most famous for being a super brave warrior. The big Mughal Empire wanted to take her land. She fought their big army with her small one. She even rode an elephant into battle. When she saw she could not win, she chose to die instead of letting the enemy capture her. She is remembered as a great hero.
