To summarize in layman’s terms: Teeth turn black either because something is sitting on them (stains, tartar, external substances) or because something inside is damaged (decay, dead pulp, trauma). The fix depends on the cause: cleaning if it’s outside, treatment if it’s inside. Ignoring it only makes things worse.
