Kezia was punished for tearing her father's important papers. She was making a pin-cushion for his birthday gift. She used the papers for stuffing it. But those papers were for his big speech. That is why he got very angry and hit her with a ruler.

I am pretty sure he did not resign. Narendra Modi is still the Prime Minister. He just won the election again. I saw on the news here in Canada that he is still the leader. Maybe the news you saw was wrong?
