As someone who just went through this rabbit hole last month my two cents: go OLED. I got the 55-inch LG G3 and it's literally the best thing I've ever bought for my living room. The difference is night and day compared to my old LED. The G3 has a brighter panel than the C-series because it has a heatsink so if your room has lots of windows it's worth the extra money.

But honestly you can't go wrong with any of LG's OLEDs from the last 2-3 years. The webOS smart platform is also the smoothest and easiest to use. Just make sure you get the evo panel. Pro tip: Wait for a holiday sale or check out open-box deals at Best Buy you can sometimes snag a fantastic deal.
