This is a tricky question. I think the answer is not a simple yes or no.

For many people, yes, it is worth it. A degree can open doors to better jobs. You can get a good salary, especially in fields like engineering or medicine. Studies show that graduates usually earn more money over their lifetime. This is a very big advantage.

But college is very expensive now. Many students get into big debt. Also, some jobs don't need a degree. Practical skills are more important sometimes. You can learn coding or a trade and earn well.

You should think about the career you want. Then see if the cost of college makes sense for that path. It is a big personal decision.

The British government made the Rowlatt Act in India. This was in 1919. They were worried about the Indian people. Many people wanted freedom from British rule. During World War I, the government had special emergency powers. But the war was over, so these powers were going to end.

The British wanted to keep control. They were scared of protests and revolution. So, they passed the Rowlatt Act. This law was very strict. It let the police arrest anyone they thought was a troublemaker. They could put people in jail for two years. And there was no trial. It was a way to stop the independence movement and control the people. It took away their basic rights.
