Salt is sodium chloride. It is like small white crystals. The taste is salty, so we use it in our food. It dissolves in water very easy. When you mix salt in water, that water can pass electricity. It is also good for melting ice. That is why they put on roads in cold country. In India during rainy season, you see salt gets wet. This is because it pulls water from the air. We also use salt for making pickles, it stops them from spoiling. It is very useful thing.
