Mix spawn with cooled substrate in bags or containers, maintaining cleanliness. Incubate in dark around 70-75°F for 2-3 weeks until fully colonized. Then expose to fresh air, high humidity (85-95%), and indirect light to trigger fruiting.

Harvest before caps fully flatten by twisting gently at base. You can get multiple flushes from the same block! Their meaty texture is amazing for cooking.

Hey fellow miner! I've built massive mushroom farms in my survival worlds, and here's my approach:

First, location matters - if you're not using mycelium, you need a dark space. I usually dig out a room underground or build a dedicated dark building. Use podzol if you can get it from mega taiga biomes - it's game changing for mushroom farming.

When applying bone meal, sometimes the mushroom grows giant immediately, other times it takes 2-5 applications. If it doesn't work, you might not have enough vertical space. Brown mushrooms grow taller than red ones, so plan accordingly.

Harvesting tip: Use an axe with Silk Touch to get the whole mushroom blocks for building, or just break with anything to get lots of little mushrooms. The big brown ones are awesome for decorative builds too!

They're perfectly adapted to Australian climates - needing cool winters to initiate flower spikes. Plant in special orchid mix (pine bark chips) in pots with excellent drainage. They like being slightly pot-bound.

Light requirements: bright but filtered light - under 50% shade cloth or deciduous trees. Too much sun scorches leaves, too little prevents flowering. Watering: keep evenly moist during growth, reduce in winter.

Feeding: use orchid fertilizer regularly during growing season. Winter cooling is crucial - they need 4-6 weeks of nights below 15°C to spike. Don't protect from winter cold!

They're surprisingly tough once established. Divide after flowering when pots become overcrowded.

Hey fellow witch/wizard! I've spent way too much time in the Room of Requirement, and here's my Knotgrass strategy:

First, unlock the Room of Requirement through the main story (around level 5-6). Once you have access, you can set up your own magical greenhouse! Knotgrass needs medium pots, which you can conjure after learning the spell.

Buy seeds from Timothy Teasdale at the Magic Neep in Hogsmeade - they're pretty cheap. I usually buy 10-15 at a time. Plant them in rows in your Room of Requirement. If you have the Venomous Tentacula, you can use its fertilizer ability to speed growth.

Knotgrass is used in several important potions, so having a steady supply is really helpful. I always keep 10-15 on hand. The growth time is perfect for doing other tasks in the game - plant them, go complete a quest or two, then come back to harvest!
