I’d say don’t jump straight into the big prize competitions unless you’re already pretty experienced. Start with the playground ones like “Titanic: Machine Learning from Disaster.” Those are designed to teach you the process. Kaggle kernels (now called “Code”) are super useful—you can check how others solved similar problems, which gives you a lot of insight. Also, discussions on each competition page are gold mines for learning new tricks.

Just a quick addition to the previous answer. Make sure your documents are clear and the file size is within the limit they specify, or your application will get rejected. Also, the online method is great, but if you face any technical issues, the TNeGA helpdesk is actually pretty responsive. Alternatively, you can still visit your local Taluk office or CSC (Common Service Centre) and they can help you apply online from there. Sometimes it's easier to let them handle the uploads if you're not comfortable with the website.
