Coming from Australia, this is a big one. The short and sweet of it is that New Zealand broke away from the ancient supercontinent Gondwana about 80 million years ago. This happened long before snakes evolved and spread across the globe. So they simply never got there naturally.
Any that might have arrived over the millennia would have struggled. During the ice ages, the islands were far too cold for them. These days, their biosecurity is incredibly strict to make sure it stays that way. Honestly, the Kiwis are lucky buggers

Gulbarga is located in the northern part of the Indian state of Karnataka. It's worth noting that its official name was changed to Kalaburagi a while back, so you might see both names used. Geographically, it sits on the Deccan Plateau.
If you're trying to place it on a map, it’s not too far from major cities like Hyderabad. The city has a really rich history. It was once the capital of the Bahmani Sultanate, which is a big deal in the region's past. Because of that, you'll find some incredible architecture there, like the huge Gulbarga Fort and several impressive tombs. So, in short, it's a historic city in northern Karnataka, India.

Ah, an excellent question. The first Jain Tirthankara was Rishabhanatha. He is also known as Adinatha, which simply means the "First Lord." According to Jain beliefs, he was a king who established civilization in our current era. He taught people vital skills like agriculture and writing before attaining enlightenment. Many people mistake Mahavira as the first, but he was actually the 24th and final Tirthankara, a great reformer of the existing faith.
