I had a roommate who always made excuses and never admitted mistakes. At first, I covered for him because he was my friend. But later, it started to feel like I was the only adult in the room. My solution was simple: set boundaries. If he forgot to pay bills, I didn’t fix it for him. If he skipped cleaning, I didn’t do his part. Slowly he learned that I wouldn’t rescue him every time.
