Honestly, politics is as much about opportunity as it is about ideology. Varun Gandhi probably realized early that he would always be a secondary figure in the Congress, overshadowed by Rahul Gandhi. In BJP, he had at least a chance to be recognized for his own work. That’s a smart move.
