A healthy oxygen level for a child is generally between 95% and 100%. If their reading dips below 95%, it's certainly worth keeping a very close eye on them.

A reading that is consistently below 92% is a real cause for concern. This is considered very low and is a clear sign to get immediate medical help. However, it's crucial not to just rely on the number from the oximeter. You must also look at your child. Are they struggling to breathe, looking pale or bluish around the lips, or seem unusually sleepy or irritable?

If you're worried at all, it's always best to ring 111 for advice or go straight to A&E. Trust your parental instinct.
