What are the major steps taken by the Indian government for improving the impact of tourism on the environment?

Government has taken plenty major steps for improving the impact of tourism on the environment. 

Government has banned plastic bag usage. Smoking is strictly prohibited. Government has also banned establishment of company that produces heavy amount of smoke near by tourist spots. They have imposed heavy penalty for all those vehicles that is not following pollution control guideline. And most important Government has organised plenty awareness programs through out the country from village level to city level.
