What is atd in bank statement?

I have seen this code on my statements before, and I was confused too. ATD almost always means Automated Teller Deposit. It is a very common code for banks to use.

This means you made a deposit using the bank’s machine, the ATM. It was not a transaction with a person at the counter. So, if you put cash or a check into the ATM, your bank statement will probably show it as 'ATD'. It is just the bank's way to categorize the transaction.
