DDR3 has a maximum of 16 GB memory. DDR3 and DDR4 RAM don't work together. DDR4 normally runs at 1. Physically, a DDR4 module, looks very similar to a DDR3. Noticeable speed is only minimally different. The last boost that DDR4 makes over DDR3 is the maximum limit of memory it can store on a single motherboard.
