'Diplomate of National Board'(DNB) is the title awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), Delhi, an autonomous academic body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to candidates who successfully complete their postgraduate or postdoctoral medical education under it. Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a medical qualification awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). Candidates seeking admission to Diplomate National Board (DNB) should possess a medical degree issued by MCI of India. Inside India - MD/MS > DNB This is mainly because India is one of the very few countries who follow a university based Postgraduate Medical Education system. DNB candidates are trained at big private hospitals, while the MD/MS candidates are trained at Medical Colleges. There are more than 149 recognized Medical Colleges in the country.
