From Victor Akinkuolie, Ado-Ekiti | The Police in Ekiti Command yesterday said it has arrested four persons involved in robbery, murder and cult related activities in the state.
A statement by the State Police Commissioner, Mr Asuquo Amba, in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, and made available to The Hope Metro quoted the police boss as saying that one Gbenga Aluko, 29, and three others, who are members of Eiye confraternity were allegedly involved in the killings of members of Black Axe “AIYE” confraternity, a rival secret cult group in Ekiti and Ondo states in recent time.
It mentioned the names of other members of the cult group arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery
Squad to include, Ayodele Ayodeji, 31, Olamide Olurunsola, 43 and Adewale Adekunle,23, all from Ifaki Ekiti , while others escaped during the operation.
According to the police boss, “Aluko and his cult group confessed further that he had surrendered his gun to a prominent traditional ruler in Ondo
State in 2017. But we discovered that his claim was found to be false.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect had been using one Toyota Camry Car with number plate KJA 710 FF, to perpetrate the killings of his victims. The said vehicle has been recovered and in my custody.”
Amba said materials recovered from them include, one cutlass, criminal charms, one Dell Laptop, a white woman photograph , two Ipad phones and one infinix phone.
The CP said, “On February 11, 2019 about 2.30pm, further effort intensified by the team led to the arrest of some other members of Eiye Supreme Confraternity group at Ifaki-Ekiti.
” All the suspects confessed to be members of Supreme Eiye Confraternity respectively and claimed that their guns are in the custody of other fleeing members of their gang.
Amba added that the police have also arrested one Kehinde Adams and Timilehin Adeyanju for allegedly receiving stolen property.
“On February 8, 2019, the suspects were arrested with the aid of tracking technology.
