Listening is when you properly pay attention to what someone says. It’s not just about hearing the noise. It’s about trying to understand the full message and the feeling behind it. It's an active thing you have to do.
There are a few different types, you know?
Informational listening is when you listen to learn something, like at work or in a lecture. Then there’s empathetic listening. This is when a friend is upset and you listen to really understand their feelings, not to judge them. There is also appreciative listening, which is just listening for fun. Like when you put on your favourite music or a good podcast.
So, the type of listening really depends on your situation.
