what is odu mascot?

The ODU has been practiced in Spain since 2003 but in recent years has had a rapid growth and more than 20 tests will be held throughout the national territory ending with the Spanish Cup held in Peafiel.

The objectives of this sport is that anyone, with any type of dog, whether large or small, purebred or half-breed, can progressively train their dog in obedience exercises that can be useful in daily life, such as tracking with obstacles, searching for the owner and a stranger, refusing food, indifference to strangers, staying with and without distractions, collecting an object, etc.

The sport can be started when our dog is 3 months old, since the difficulty is gradual and there are different grades in all the tests.

The tests are thematic, so the participants never know what environment or what difficulties they will encounter, since each test is designed by the judge with the elements that the organization provides and with the elements that can be found in the environment, even , in advanced degrees, to be able to design part of the test outside the track where the test is carried out.

Since the AEM is the one that provides you with the work card, it is necessary to be a member to participate in any test.

On the other hand, you need to belong to a work club to be a member of the AEM, although to compete in a basic level you can attend two tests being invited by a club without having to be a member, after these two tests you have to meet the requirements that we have described before.

At a particular level, as a Cuatro Patas Canine Club, it is true that we have been around for a short time, about a year, (we refer to it as a federated club, since we have been training dogs for more than 8 years) and we already have more than 20 pairs that either They have already started competing or are preparing to start next season with force.

Our way of training is based on play and motivation, which is why we have a canine educator in charge of our club. In fact, the people who start training with us before training their own ODU exercises, first do a job that is super important for us: the correct structuring of the game, self-control and the impulse center of their dog, as well as working on specific signage. so that later, the construction of exercises is much simpler and more precise, as well as easier to understand for our furry ones.
