The Siberian crane, also known as the Siberian white crane or the snow crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes. The Siberian crane (Leucogeranus leucogeranus), also known as the Siberian white crane or the snow crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes. Adult Siberian cranes are 140 cm (5 ft) tall and weight 6 kg (13 lbs). The Eastern population breeds in northeastern Siberia and winters at Poyang Lake in the Lower Yangtze River Basin in China. The Siberian crane is the world's third most endangered species of crane. The Siberian crane (Leucogeranus leucogeranus), are also known as the Siberian white crane or the snow crane.
