What is the latitudinal extent of the taiga region?

Here in Canada, we call this the boreal forest. It's a huge place! The taiga is in the Northern Hemisphere. It is generally found between 50 degrees north and 70 degrees north latitude. You can think of it like a big green belt around the top of the world. It sits just south of the Arctic tundra, where trees stop growing. And it's north of the warmer temperate forests. This biome covers big parts of Canada, Russia, and Scandinavia. It's a really important part of our country, eh.
